  1. No, he has followers.

  2. It's not exactly a yes or no answer.  Like Bush's two questionable victories, the elections in Iraq weren't fair enough to be certified by an international election commission. Unlike here, the margin of his victory was FAR too much to even be partially credible.

Hussein rose to power as the vice president of Iraq in 1968 due to a military coup. al-Bakr became the president.  He was given the post of President in 1979 when al-Bakr retired.

    Here's some info about Hussein:

  3. If you're talking Sadaam in Iraq, he took power in a military coup so he was not elected.  (elections after a coup, where the dictator always wins 100% of the vote are not elections, they are photo-ops. (viz gore v. bush circa 2000))

If you're attempting to attack Senator Obama, you are:

    1.  Not doing a very good job.

    2.  A mouth-breathing idiot.

    3.  Wasting your time when you should be collecting bottles and cans.

    4.  Probably not even registered to vote, which brings us back to Number 2.

EDIT:  Answer above me re: Jordanian royalty is 100% correct as well; I forgot about the Hashemite kings who are to be admired for their diplomacy and statesmanship!

  4. If you mean King Hussein of Jordan, it's a monarchy.  There's no election involved.

  5. Yes, he often got almost 100% of the vote, because anyone not voting for him would be punished.
