Question:

Was I right to follow my heart?

I had picked biology as a higher subject at my school.

I picked it because it is quite important.

I started the class and found it alright but I knew I had the option to change to RE/Philosophy.

I recieved better marks for RE in my standard grades and it's something I have a real passion for and I enjoy.

So I went and got it changed, following my heart rather than my head.

I think I will pick biology as a higher in my final year but it will be harder to catch up on than RE would have been. The thing is RE numbers always vary so there might not be a class next year if I hadn't picked it this year.

Do you think I made the right decision?

  1. better than listen to fools.

  2. It is a personal matter that only you who could answer it. What i can say is this - following one's heart is more reasonable than the head. You see there are reasons of the heart when the head could no longer reason well and therefore people resort to follow their hearts. I have the feeling that you will enjoy more on the subject you finally decided on since this cover a lot of interesting questions of reality and truth. So good luck and hope to see you around here.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

  3. You made the right decision.....Now you have time before you take the Biology class & you can get a text book from the library & look at it here & there. This way when you do take Biology it will be easier on you. You should get a text book & look through it. Learn some of the words. You can do this casually. Plus the more you know it life the easier it is to learn cause you have more of the puzzle pieces to put things together with...I think people underestimate the importance of RE/Philosophy. I have a son who started out in Biology in colledge & changed to business. The Biology helped him but the business is really helping him. So as you look back the Biology will help you in some ways. I am more into the Philosophy & he doesn't think it is very important. I actually understand so much more about people & life than most people that I consider myself very successful. I do what I love in life & most people don't do that. You will finish up the classes you are required to finish so it doesn't matter what order you did this in. You will be happier that you did what you love first cause you carry that joy with you. So I think you made a wise choice.

  4. Absolutely.  That is what more people need to learn.  Most people do feel influenced by their family and friends to do what they want them to do.  The problem is the longer one goes doing things that are not a REAL part of who they are... it is like a struggle on the inside. You are going against the grain.  And even though you may be successful or do really well, it cannot become a passion if it was not already in your heart.  That is why the things that are in our hearts do flow with such ease, as they are apart of who we are!

If nothing else, just know that I SUPPORT YOU! I think you should go for it and do anything you heart tells you to do!

    Thanks for reading!

  5. It is always better to make your own decisions. Even if it latter turn out that you were wrong, you simply learn from it and move on.

  6. Dont trust rayrippe. Hes talking bullshit. I dont know what to tell u. It's always passion versus money.

  7. Stupid decision..

Real philosophers start it for themselves without taking classes..
