Question:

Was I ripped off of my perm by this salon?

On Saturday, I got a perm at a salon in Beverly Hills. They did everything right, but I feel that the trim that I got after messed it up. my hair was still wet, and it was nice and curly. Then, another woman from the same salon (who did not give me the perm) trimmed my hair. She brushed it out, which made it straight, and cut it. by the time she dried it, it was only a bit wavy and frizzy, but she promised me that it would be curly when I took a shower in 24 hours. I went to bed, and woke up with completely straight hair. This i the state that it is at right now. Was I totally ripped off, or was the stylist right and will it be curly when I was my hair tomorrow?

  1. LuLu...All of us Sunday morning quartercutters commenting on Saturday's game...all we can do is give a bunch of guesses based on your description of the play.  If only we could see the play over in autorepeat mode.  The kind of brush used..the brisles of the brush...the hardness of the stroke...the number of strokes...the professality of the brusher...  As the ref on this one I say penalty cannot be deduced or enforced until tomorrow....after you wash it out and fix it.  You will know alot more then.  In the mean time, figure out how you can get a pic of the do to put it on so we can all see our judgement calls.  I for one, am going to (prematurely say) that I think your hair will turn out good and acceptable.  And I will wait in anticipatory nausea awaiting your feelings tomorrow..... So get the pic.....get it washed...get it set.....and get it on here....Im looking forward to seeing you.   k?  And oh by the way....if it's not as you wished...then find an amount of settlement that you would be happy with.  Certainly not the full amount...You'll want to leave the first girl that did the perm a couple of bucks.... Im still thinking it'll be okay though.

Edit:  TAAADAAAA--- See, I told ya it'd be okay.  Sometimes we just have to wait for the right moment in time for the good things to land.  Im so happy it turned out ok for ya.  I bet you look great in it too.... ;-)

  2. Hello

If your hair is naturally curly...It should be curly again after you wash it.

Since the other lady brushed it out and dried it...which probably made it straight then...

    Good Luck

  3. oh dear, lets pray that after your wash everything will be fine..:)

well the stylist had to know better..anyway..

don't panic!! I know perm normaly comes out curly..and if your hair was curly she didn't have to "brushed it out in result of making it straight.." because when the hair curl again it will be shorter.

well good Luck and i wish you the best for your hair

  4. No, she shouldn't have brushed your hair. See what happens when you wash it and if it doesn't go curly (which I doubt it will) go back in and demand a refund, hun!

  6. She BRUSHED wet hair?  You're supposed to comb wet hair.  And why did you get a trim AFTER?

Anyway, a perm would survive a brushing pretty well, but if you aren't happy with it, go back and show them the results of your perm if it is not what you wanted.  Chances are though, if the curl didn't set it, it was more likely a chemical problem than a brush.

EDIT:  Yay!  I was hoping things would work out for you!  Enjoy it, and remember, take good care of it...and yourself!
