Guys Iam faced in a huge problem. Guys today I went to the dentist in the morning for a checkup but I know if anything is wrong action might be used. But I was not prepared for anythng. When we entered in to the room me and my dad First the dentist told me my front lower bridge teeth looked ok and then he said lets just get a x-ray of both the lower and top bridge and i asked then will we be done and he said yes and i asked him again and he said yes.when the x-ray came out he explained to my dad about a problem in my teeth and then he said we have to remove 2 teeth. (I was really assured it was only a quick check-up so no preparation at all and i am scared of the dentist and the injections). I refused and then they asked me when should we do it next time and i said friday but soon after they said you now what we are here lets do it now. I refused after being chased anfter i ran out of the room and when i finally came in i was so angry and then the dentist asked me which school i go to and i kept quiet and cleared my throat to kind of show i dont want to talk to you or youre nurse and he asked me 3 more times but i refused then after he said ok then he asked open youre mouth but i also ignored and refused to open then my dad took me outside to try and convine me but i refused and he said ok when you get a problem dont come to me etc then he went to pay and continued saying you see making me pay for nothing and when i went home my mum also was like im ashamed of you why couldnt you do it and i said i havent been there since 2005 so you have to understand and the last time 4 teeth were removed so now i have to go on friday to get it done. Do you think i was wrong and i have to apologize to the dentist or i also have a case because he told me it was only going to be a x-ray and then he calmed my nerves?.

  1. you acted like u had a fear of the dentist.

he was worng for trying to make u get the 2 teeth pulled today

ur parents are also wrong for forcing it on you.

u should go friday and get it done. take an mp3 player or ipod.

    good luck

everyone was wrong in this situation but the dentist was a real jerk

  2. Don't be embarassed and don't let anyone put you down.  However, you can work through this fear by being upfront with everyone.

    Don't spring things on me.

everyone should do everything in their power to make the visits as relaxing and pain free as possible.  the dentist can use a topical pain reliever before the shot and you should not feel a thing.  I had three teeth done today and it was not painful a bit.  I had to have them drilled so it is getting a bit sore now but take pain med before the procedure and that will help.  also, pace more pain med like ibuprofen, Very good I thinkas it is pain reliever and swelling reducer.  Look at the bottle for your age and weight instructions for how much and often.

Your dad did have a point though.  He MIGHT have saved some money by doing it today although I don't think so.  You had to go to the dentist for check up anyway.

Prepare your mind for friday, relax, it's going to be ok.  there are some not so nice things we have to do in life.  I would ask why you need them out and if there is any other way, like waiting.

    God bless and good luck

  3. you poor thing, I thought you were going to say at the end that's when I woke up!  nightmare, he had no right nor your father in all this. You should of been prepared. Be brave and go on Friday prepared knowing that by bedtime Friday night it will be all over with, and you wont have to have it done in 5 years time. best of luck.x

  4. My dentist gives me valium to take before I go to see him, maybe that's the answer for you too?

  5. the dentist was wrong to try and force you. =)

  6. hi! everyone hates the dentist but at the end of the day, if you wanna have nice teeth then you gotta let the dentist do the work that needs done! i know it is scary, but just think, for all the time you messed about and refused to have anything done, you could have had the teeth out! do go back on friday and say sorry to the dentist, just say you were shocked because you weren't expecting to get anything done. maybe it would have been better to get the teeth pulled there and then, because now you are going to have it on your mind till friday! but, you'll be fine just try and stay calm and just think, the sooner the dentist gets to work, the sooner it will be all over! good luck!

  7. I think you should have just got it over and done with.

You acted quite childish in my opinion, although I don't know what age you are.

  8. So I take it that you want to walk around with jacked up teeth?  Its not like this is coming out of your pocket to take care of the problem.  You could have a father like mine that NEVER took us to the dentist as kids and now as an adult I am paying for his tight pockets.  Take it like a man (or woman) and get the dang things removed and thank you father for caring enough about your teeth to have them look nice.  The dentist shouldn't have told you that it was just an x-ray but you shouldn't have acted like a 4 year old!

  9. You acted very childishly. You need to grow up. If you have a severe fear of the dentist then get it sorted. Seek help. Don't just cry and moan about it or nobody can help you. The dentist wouldn't have known what needed doing before looking at your teeth!

  10. The dentist was wrong to try to spring this on you so suddenly,  but there is a reason they do it that way sometimes.    If you had gone ahead on let them work on you,   it would already be done and the stress would be over.   Now you have until Friday to worry about it,  and that's not fun.     If you need help relaxing while you are there,  bring your IPOD or Mp3 player so you can listen to your favorite music,  try the laughing gas (it will help relax you),  and just ignore the doctors and staff while they are working on you.   The trick is you have to ignore them with your mouth open and sitting still !

I would let them do it for sure on Friday,  or you will just have more time worrying about it.

  11. If it was me sitting in that chair and the dentist had said that i would need two teeth taken out if i was in my school years, i would be very cross just as you were and especially as he has said multiple times that everything was okay etc. I would of been shocked if I were expected to have two teeth removed on the spot, as (just like you were,) expecting it to be a quick and non-gruelling checkup.

but then on the other hand, the dentists do know what they are saying, and they wouldn't just make you take out teeth for no reasons apart from your dental future. Also the same sort of thing happened to me when i was around your age, when i went for a mere check-up, the dentist had told me that i needed one of my canines taken out on the spot, i had to have two injections (one in the root, and one in the gum,) and it did hurt but only for a second. Dentists are perfectly authorised and able to do dental procedures on the spot, and as i said, it's the best way forward.

If i were you, i would go back to your dentist, and apologize for the fuss and say "What would be the consiquences of not having them removed?" and if you have to get them removed, then try to convince him to do it out of school hours.

It's all really down to you and what you think you should do for yourself.

but if i was in your shoes, i would definately have them taken out before anything bad happens which would be more urgent than a couple of teeth being taken out.

    hope this has helped. :)

  12. I think you have a fear of the dentist as you have not been for a while.Dentists like to make small talk with their patients to make them feel at ease, hence why he asked which school you went to.When you go next apologise and explain that your nervous about the treatment. Also suggest if he could explain the treatment that he found on the xray and to talk you through what he is doing. At the end of  the day dentists are unable to diagnose what treatment may be needed without xrays.........good luck

  13. I think the Dentist probably thought he was helping by offering to extract the teeth there and then so you wouldn't worry and get even more nervous. Nobody much likes visiting the Dentist for treatment but it is necessary to maintain good dental health. I was brought up to answer people when they speak to me, so consider your behaviour rude. I think you should apologise to the Dentist, when after all he's only trying to help by giving you necessary treatment for your benefit. You can't run away from everything you don't like.
