  1. The reaction was not wrong. You are entitled to feel emotions. But you behaved exactly as you accused him.

And your answer is a mistake if you are concerned about points, being deleted etc. If not, at the very least you got your point across.

  2. Well, it's just a reaction, I guess. It's a little inappropriate to make a personal attack on the guy, especially using a profanity, knowing kids might read it.

Personally, I see it as just a joke. A bad one, but still just a joke. I don't like PETA, though, and think they're usually either over-the-top or hypocritical. I suppose that might influence my opinion.

  3. how can you have such disregard for the food chain? Animals eat other animals. Get over it.

  4. you over reacted. if he is proud to eat meat it is no different than if he was a proud vegan. it sounds like u r a animal lover but are not very accepting of people that are carniverous.

  5. no i love you for that ♥

  6. I'm not sure if he has disregard for animals. He seems to have a disregard for PETA and some of their contraversial tactics. Also  he is simply talking about eating animals, not mistreating and abusing animals.

I'm not sure why people equate PETA with being Veg. I support good care and treatment of animals but am non-veg. Non-veg lifestyle is not going to disappear, so one might as well find ways to make the animals life better and more humane ways of preparing it for consumption.

Heck if there was a way to avoid killing while still getting the authentic meat then I'd go for that. Perhaps a way to grow meat artificially? Perhaps PETA should try along those line, developing alternate solution that leave BOTH parties happy?

  7. please, do try to retain SOME dignity and never compare Cancer Research to PETA. I haven't seen reports of Cancer Reseach Charities using agressive tactics, killing patients they cannot home or exploiting naked women to get publicity

    yes, you were wrong.

He posted a silly joke, and you were abusive.

While we're on the subject of "disregard for animals", you might want to make yourself aware of what happens to dairy cows, seeing as though you love Cadbury's so much.

by eating Cadbury's products, this is what YOU support. I'm not saying its wrong, you make your own opinion on whats right and wrong, but you might want to re-evaluate your thinking on how "disregard for animals annoys you" when YOU pay for it too !

If you "don't agree with killing animals" why on Earth do you eat Cadbury's chocolate ??

Here are some activities you support by buying Cadbury's chocolate:

    Artificial incemination every year

Dairy farms artificially inceminate cows every 11 months. Naturally, cows will vary this up to 3 years according to climate, health, season etc.  This can cause excessive stress on the cows body, increses the chance of prolapse and generally "wears them out" in a few years, rather than a natural 15-20 years.

    Protein enriched feed

The feed they are given is enriched with artificial growth foods. these are generally made with cattle meat protiens.

In the USA and some parts of Australiasia they use a hormone growth agent called recombinant bovine somatotropin. Its brand name is POSILAC® and its made by Monsanto. This increases milk yield and beef growth. This is a synthetic hormone. Its banned in the EU since 1988

The main mechanism these hormones work is by re-directing dietry nutrients from peripheral body tissue to mammary glands. effectively, they are slowly killing the cow.

70% of US cattle are injected with this growth hormone ( 2007 stats ) that the majority of the world will not entertain because they believe its too dangerous.

    Bribe/feed caged carousels

These suck. They are large rotating carousels where the cows are caged in a space where they cannot move. They have "black boxes" on thier legs which communicate with the main operating computer. They are fed just the right amount of food depending on how much milk they gave yesterday. They have added growth food if thier production drops

One person can milk about 400 cattle on a carousel so there is no time for checking the animals health - they just milk them dry and kick them out.

killing bulls, excess calves and free martins at 1 week old

All bulls are killed at 1 week old, although some farms iin the UK started ( in 2006 ) shipping them to Continental Europe for veal again. They do not keep any back for breeding as they bring in new blood lines. In the UK we don't use dairy bull calves for veal anymore in country. They are either killed, or shipped out. Bull calves go to make low quality leather products such as cheap sofas.

They kill all free martins as there is a good chance they will be barren.

Strangly, they feed these animals with colostrum at birth to keep them alive, but then kill them a week later.

excess feeding to produce 60 lites of milk per day

The growth food is all designed to produce excess milk. Cows are naturally designed to produce about 15 litres. The european targets for 2009 are set at 90 litres, i don't think it need me to tell you if this is heading the right or wrong direction.

intensive rearing means low husbandry checks

As mentioned above, most automatic dairies have one milkmaid per session, thats it. I know a dairy farm with 1200 cattle and 3 employees. Tell me how they can ever check the cattle....

removing calves from mothers after colostrum feed

This is stressful and not natural, cows bawl for about a week for thier young, calling them to be fed. Obviously the calf cannot "run to mom" because its in dog food by now.

killing the cow at 7 years old

Cows can naturally live up to 20 years old, limited by teeth errosion. Production dairy cows are killed after 4-6 births so are never kept after 7 years old.

  8. no you were right. i would've done the same i think.

michael h. thanks for the info about cadburys. thats a terrible way to treat any animal. im glad i dont eat chocolate

  9. Personally I think yes you were wrong, he was just expressing an opinion.  You should not report someone just because they hold a different opinion to you.  yahoo answers would soon empty out if that was the case.

Maybe he thought he was being amusing, granted, its not your sense of humour, but that's just the way life is.

  10. not at all

  11. I think you're getting a bit upset over what some 14 year-old can come up with for a joke.  You are just going to encourage him to do some more shenanigans

  12. No. I'm a carnivore, and I also know that you shouldn't "feed the trolls" but sometimes .. it's just so much fun! :-)

  13. yes someone is going to report you

  14. You were wrong and it was a total over reaction. He was making a joke not outright attacking vegetarians where as you outright attacked him. I agree its part of the food chain animals eat other animals its only natural. h**l I would even accept it if humans were in the jungle and a ******* tiger ate them because hes higher on the food chain. Everything has a soul true but everything is gonna die anyway.

  15. Yep, You were TROLLED.

  16. ha, you fell for the bait, he was ignorant, and showed your ignorance as well.

I don't have disregard for animals, I just happen to like the way they taste.  And after seeing PETA videos, i appreciate them even more for their pain and suffering to provide life to me.

How can you have such disregard for the food chain, or disregard for vegetables???

You've obviously bought into the whole PETA propaganda haven't you?

How many animals have you saved?  If you don't eat em, someone else will.

PETA worthwhile cause?  maybe you should do your research on how many animals they kill.  I guess someone who supports a group who uses pam anderson as their spokes person and other celebrity phonies would believe this.  Watch some real news.  PETA is no saint, and just a hypocrite organization.  Do as we say, not as we do.

  17. No just stupid. Obviously he put it on there to get a reaction and that's what you gave him.

  18. You over-reacted. That dude just wanted to get his jollies by getting a rise out of people.

And you gave him just what he wanted.

Hope you dont get a violation. I hate when idiots report people for as little as what you said.

  19. The only mistake you made was calling him a tw@t. That is derogatory toward women. You should have instead called him a prick.

  20. I don't eat meat at all but not because of animal rights issues just because it so happens that i have never liked the taste of it. I find it tastes quite repugnant to me and the stink of it cooking is even worse for me. I can't go into a butchers shop, even with friends who are shopping as i see it all as dead body parts which, as far as i'm concerned it is. Had it not been for a man made religion that promotes the killing and eating of animals by saying man shall have dominion over them, perhaps MAN would be a little more thoughtful.

  21. Yes! You don't need to apply Sarcasm to deliver a good message!!

  22. you may have over-reacted a little, but that guy was annoying. And it's always interesting to see people call other people tw@ts and weasels etc.
