    The people of Ireland never voted in any way to become part of the uk, it was a military occupation which oppressed the Irish people, banned their religion and language, and led to the forced starvation of millions of men, women and children.

  7. the country is now independent and run by Irish republicans,sinn fein are the government now but the official handover will not be for another few years 5/6. after the brits were defeated they approached the republicans asking for a ceasefire giving them all their demands.
