Was King Tutt and those around him Black?

Philadelphia has been hosting the King Tutt exhibit for a few months now. Today a couple of Black groups are going to protest the exhibit site claiming that King Tutt and the people around him were Black and there is no mention of it in the exhibit. One woman actually said that the noses of the mummies were broken off to hide the fact that the mummies have Black features. This couldn't be true, could it?

  1. They like to not call themselve by racial names.  So now why do they need a color to symbolize King Tut.  I would say he was dark.

  2. The Egyptians were not black.  They were Egyptian.  However, the Nubians were black, and the Egyptians had a very close relationship with them.

  3. I doubt it, Egpyt is close to the Middle East, so I would say that they were not Black. But many Africans moved to Egypt and may have worked with him.

  4. A nose is made of cartilage, it'll naturally decompose over time. They may be overreacting. I do believe egyptians are modern day muslims now.
