I believe he was a Dem.  However, the democrats of that time were much more conservative than today!  By todays standards, JFK would be a conservative!  He was pro-life and he lowered taxes!  That isn't anything you would hear out of a Dem today!

To me, those two parties are the same!

but I honestly think that he was conservative. I think that he believed in live and let live. Not basing a Presidential pick on race, but on qualification!

He was quite obviously a Liberal Democrat, in todays standards.

The Republicans introduced the Civil Rights Act and the Dems fought it ever step of the way, so I'm not sure.   Was he even able to register to vote?

He was a civil rights leader that didn't care which party had power, but that both recognized that America wasn't living up to its own words and wanted it to change.

But if you want a dose of reality, even though some think he was democratic, you read the book "Givers and Takers" and tell me if you would stay a democrat in todays society. Its well known that the liberals have taken sides for the most part with the democratic party, and the book is statistics from years of studies...not a conservative think tank to open people's eyes regarding their lack of values, their failed initiatives, their lacking charity, morales, values, family care, etc.

Of course you wo'nt get much support on it form liberals,....since too many are fully embraced in this "me" generation mentality.
