  1. No - it was the return of the Stone of Skone that did it.

The English had kept it for 800 years and finally returned it a few years ago.

Braveheart helped, but the Scottish people grow up knowing their history very well.

  2. I'm an Englishman! AND, I can tell you for a FACT, the Scots have wanted independence for around a thousand years. I don't think that Mr Gibson would - or should flatter himself into thinking anything at all. Whether the Scots want independence is entirely up to them, but YOU should remember that more tax pounds go ooop north than what comes darn sarth. I have lived and served with many fine Scots. They are free and fine people. Whatever happens, good luck to them.

    As for you, T R O L L   O F F - you aint got a damned clue what you're talking about buster.

  3. If it was, the Scottish would have to be an unbelievably gullible people.

The film was a load of inaccurate tosh from beginning to end.

If you want to know the truth about William Wallace...read a few history books.

  4. I doubt that very much.  The Scots were urging for independence for many years before that film was released.

    See link below.

  5. I hope it continues to burn then so we can get rid of them

They have done nothing but whinge for 400 years

Braveheart is c**p, Wallace was a cowardly sneak.

Ask yourself how he got to York without fighting Carlisle in the west March. Newcastle in the Middle March or Alnwick/Berwick in the Eastern March

  6. I`m going with Jake T on this.

  7. Really don't know, wonder why the Scotts want to be independent, the place is so tiny.

  8. I think most scots don't want independence all my scots Friends don't.I do wish Gordon Brown the clown would go back for good though

  9. I  hope scotland does get independence, as it will mean we in England wont have to subsidise a nation that has a massive grudge against us...

  10. h***s bells and here i thought i came into the big brother section

  11. Nope - Braveheart was based on actual events!

Sir William Wallace (c. 1272-76 – 23 August 1305) was a Scottish knight, landowner, and patriot who is known for leading a resistance during the Wars of Scottish Independence.

Along with Andrew Moray, he defeated an English army at Stirling, and became Guardian of Scotland, serving until his defeat at the Battle of Falkirk. After several years in hiding, Wallace was eventually found in Scotland and handed over to Edward I of England, who had him executed for treason.
