Was Michael Phelps the only American competitor this year?

I congratulate him on his success, but it seems that no other US athlete has mattered this year.

I can understand the hype he is getting, but does nobody remember 2004? Everyone is praising him, but in about a week he is going to be forgotten like he was after the 2004 Olympics.

Sadly, you are right. He will be forgotten.

Michael Phelps may get a lot of attention, but he deserves it. He is one of the greatest Olympic athletes of all time.

He seemed to be the only American competitor though.

I agree and I'm getting really tired of hearing about him the media is giving him too much praise and it is getting annoying

I congratulate him as well...but 2 of his medals he didn't win alone...he had the help of his team mates.

Sad that they are not getting more credit.

To tell you the truth, yeah.. I do feel the same way..

Michael Phelps is often in the spotlight. Don't get me wrong, Michael Phelps is an amazing guy and I absolutely am a big fan of him. But, his team mates deserve some credits too.

And yeah, he will be forgotten once the Olympics are over. Sad thing. =(

But Michael Phelps did the US citizens proud and amazed everyone throughout the world. =)
