  1. Spoken like someone who was misdiagnosed himself and just needed a father and some discipline...

  2. No He is Wrong because One They are Brats If you have a Child 2 to 5 Years of age of Course they'll be Brats they're Kids, most Parents of Autistic Children even Father don't do the same c**p Michael Savage said because not Teaching a Child  that Bullying, lets say every Parents in the world don't know how to raise a Child, Every Doctors is Over Diagnosing Cancer and Autism so they get paid Millions, and Every Politicians is out there Anger Consumers Home Owners and Tax-payers, Face It in today we all want the easy way out of things, Micheal Savage is Insane and If he had a heart he would help these Autistic People and not Use Words to bully them and put his own job on the line.

He is Dead Wrong about this matter

  3. Well, that 99% remark was totaly wrong but I am sure that there are kids who are falsely diagnosed with autism.

  4. I would think listening to Michael Savage in a car would do more harm to a child.  All that angst.

  5. He's an idiot.   My son has a father, discipline and a good life and he still has autism.  It has NOTHING to do with discipline.

  6. No I think maybe he's mistaken autism with ADD, ADHD, ODD, and all the other disorders that they prescribe ritalin to kids for.

  7. Nope.  Not right at all.  I don't know who this "Michael Savage" guy is, but he sounds like a real douche' bag to me.  Sure.  Lots of childhood disorders are misdiagnosed, but its not accurate in the least to say that "99% of autistic children are brats who need a father and some discipline."  That's quite possibly the most insensitive and ignorant thing I have heard in a very long time.

  8. Geez. I didn't even have to click on the story on the Yahoo! front page to know it was from Savage. I hate him with a passion!

No, he is absolutely wrong. Autism is a legitimate and serious medical condition. Some parents DO use medical conditions like this and ADD/ADHD as an excuse to let their kids run wild, but they are very few.

  9. I called my husband at work immediately after hearing this and told him to get his butt home and discipline our brat! Since she is completely non-verbal and self injurious, I figure it'll take us a solid month or two of verbal abuse to get her caught up to the other 6 year olds... and all this time I was worried!  Who needs Jenny McCarthy, I say let Michael Savage be our self appointed autism spokesperson... @ss- hole!

And to all those who are offended by my remark and want to give me a tumbs down... I'm using a "hyperbole" (who needs appologies when we have this defense ;)

  10. I have to say there is some truth to what he says. I wouldnt hav taken the statement has far as he did saying that 99 percent of them are brats, but I feel people are using this as a scapegoat for the way there children are behaving. How come this disease so diagnosed so much now since all these high profile people started talking about it?

  11. my autistic son has a father, and has discipline. Funny enough he is still autistic.

  12. If listened further, he wasn't just referring to "autistic" children, but also those who are "add", "adhd", "bipolar", etc.  Maybe not 99% are misdiagnosed, but I'd venture to say about 50% are misdiagnosed one of the many up and rising "disabilities" that are so commonly diagnosed (thus causing an increase in special treatment, government funds, etc. to schools and parents alike).

Let's be honest, there is a greater number of people demanding special treatment because of their disability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. instead of taking responsibility for their own actions.  You can not disagree that there are a good number of people in each group that cries "foul" when they don't get their way.  I have seen children who are misdiagnosed simply because I have seen the way they are parented and the way they act around me (I'm in daycare and spend more time with the children that I watch than their own parents).

Yes, there are children who are legitimately disabled (and Michael Savage has stated that, so, if you didn't actually LISTEN to his program you wouldn't have known because the special interest groups don't care about getting the whole message out, only the part they didn't like).  But it is not as great of a number as is being reported.

Why do you think we have superbugs and viruses now?  Because doctors have OVERDIAGNOSED their patients because the patients have demanded the medication and if a doctor disagreed, those patients would find another doctor who was lacking in some ethics and failed to do the right thing.  Come on, let's not all play dumb and think that doctors and drug companies and schools and some parents don't have other motives besides the best interest of children.  There are plenty of parents and others who are suppose to protect children who don't.  Heck, drugs that are being given to children have proven to increase suicide rates among the children taking them.  If a parent isn't smart enough to be alarmed about that and seek an alternative solution to drugs, then well, the parent isn't doing their job.

  13. What a fool!  He was way wrong.  Autism is not something to joke about.  These kids have serious problems in social situations and have the minds that can not tolerate being overstimulated.  It's like saying cancer is misdiagnosed 99% of the time and people are hypocondriachs who want to get their bodies hacked up and go on chemo.

  14. No, don't know who michael savage is but Ausitic children can get lost in their own little world, you can look a severely autistic child in the eyes and it looks like they aren't even there at all.  They have a real disorder affecting them requiring special care and instruction.

  15. Hearing that your child has autism is heartbreaking for a parent. Noticing that your child doesn't speak when other children his age speak. Seeing that your child won't look you in the eye even though you desperately try to connect to him. Watching other children notice and play with others when your child is wandering away from the fun. Wondering constantly what life in the future is going to hold for your child....will he ever get married, will he be able to go to college, will he have kids....

Not to mention having to fight with the school district to get him the services that he needs. Spending hours every week driving from one therapy to the next. Going crazy trying different treatment methods such as special diets, wondering if they are going to help. Explaining to family members who ask a million questions why your child can't sit in a crowded room without having a sensory overload.

This is the reality for most parents who have a child with autism. And that doesn't even begin to address what the child himself has to deal with. For Michael Savage, who has absolutely NO qualifications in this area, to say what he did is beyond cruel. Beyond irresponsible. Beyond hurtful. And beyond horrible.

I am sure he is patting himself on the back for saying what he thinks needs to be said, as if he is some kind of hero in an "Emperor Wears No Clothes" scenario - just saying what others are afraid to say - but he is really nothing more than a sh*t for brains who preaches about values, but sees nothing wrong with insulting children with disabilities (which is about as low as it gets).

  16. Absolutely NOT!  Michael Savage is a bloated windbag who has no idea of what he says.  He needs to be fired.

    Peace,

    Jenn

  17. What he said was disgusting, cruel and incredibly wrong.  But what do you expect from this crude, no-nothing, talentless slob?
