  1. Yes, there are a lot of mean people in this country.  Just look at a lot of answers in the Election section here!  So much hatemongering against someone for the color of their skin or their name.  It makes a sane, reasonable person sad.

  2. I agree except Palin has gotten 10 times the negative coverage as Michelle from the liberal media in a matter of a week!

    It's amazing

Now I'm watching the view gang up on Elizabeth H

It's amazing to me that I was once a Democrat I'm disgusted with the party

I am now a Independent voting for McCain and proud of his pick of Palin

  3. I've done a bit of traveling with my husband and have discovered that Americans are the rudest people.  I'm American, born in Chicago and raised in Seattle and Kansas City.  My husband just recently left the military and I love my country (not so crazy about who runs it...).  The only people I've met that come close to our bad manners and disrespect is the French.

  4. Amen sister.

I agree that a great majority of people are NOT mean.

But they don't seem entitled to be called Americans if the Republicans have their way.  That is their right and nobody elses.

But there are racists and sexists on both sides of the political parties too.  You have to look at WHO you are electing though.

I don't think terms like democratic or republican mean anything anymore.

You need to cure this morality of hatred against people of different races and not use women as a tool to win campaigns.

Tracy my dear...."IN A WORLD OF INSANITY, THE SANE OFTEN SEEM INSANE".

Why are you so sure it's just democrats attacking Palin's kid?  It seems to be there are a lot of dirty tricks being pulled by republicans.

    My account suspension being one.

  5. No, she's not right.  Remember, you can't judge the people by the media.  I think that it's very cynical and unpatriotic of her(or anyone else) to say that.  Don't criticize anything, especially your country, unless you are actively fixing the problem you see.

  6. i don't think we are mean exactly, more... self-destructive. by doing those sorts of things we are pulling the political power rug right out from under us and making ourselves the laughing stock of every other country in the world, literally! and from inside our own borders we create our own social anarchy, mostly by not letting the past die and moving on. what can ONE person do but sit back and watch? ignorance creates earplugs to rational ideas and thoughts. how can you possibly fight that? that is what is killing our country.

  7. The media and people who verbally attack children are more than mean.

  8. NO

  9. I believe she was right and she needs to let her mean far left liberals know exactly how mean they are being.  Attacking a 17 year old girl is a blow below the belt!!!!!

  10. She may be right, but I am not so sure that it was a wise thing for a presidential candidate's wife to say about her country.  You cannot make a judgement like that about a country as a whole.   "We the People" are a vast assortment of personalities - some ARE mean and draw a lot of attention.  However, there are multitudes of gentle, kind, hard-working people that are anything but mean.  To comment on "mean comments" would have been far more appropriate.

  11. We are a mean country because our government:

Does the bidding of insurance companies rather than assure all Americans have access to health care.

Complies with the oil and auto industry to keep alternative fuel and energy off the market.

Caters to the fanatical religious right to limit or eliminate the power of women to control their bodies. Latest is to classify birth control as abortion.

Yes, we are a mean country because with all our wealth and resources we let the corporations run our country and our lives without consideration of our present and future needs.

We are no longer living in a democracy our country has been sold to the corporations-the correct description is an "oligarchy".

  12. <----------

  13. The liberal controlled media is mean. it will say ANYTHING to get what it wants.

So maybe I can agree, for the first and probably only time, with something MicHELLe says.

  14. The "Country" isn't attacking Palin. The demorats (with Hillary in the shadows) are attacking.

  15. Oh, hello there!

R2 has noted, and rightfully so, that you are displaying human trait: "ignorance"

By my calculations earthling "Michelle Obama" displays human traits: "greed" "power hungry" and "hatred"

R2 has also noted that you are displaying earth trait: "wisdom" in your support of earthlings "John McCain" and "Sarah Palin"

  16. yes we are a mean country.. we focus on things that have no importance... i dont think children should be brought into the election or anthing of that matter.. although i do find it strange that her 17 year old daughter is pregnant and this woman doesnt want to teach about s*x and protecting yourself.. but to teach about not having s*x... teenagers are going to have s*x regardless and they need to be taught about protecting themselves... i love michelle obama... and im voting for barack the whole way!

  17. No, Michelle is wrong, but that is the message that she wants you and all the democrats to buy so that there is a "legitimate" reason for barry's "change".

That message doesn't apply to me or a lot of people I know, but it does apply to people from the left who have gone on the attack since the mention of Palin. It all fits now. A message of meanness begets more meanness until we all see that because it is where we are focused. It is the power of suggestion.

Don't buy into it. "If you never quit trying to succeed, you will never lose."

  18. 50% of the country is of one party and 50% of the other. When people are convinced things are black and white, as Americans tend to do, the only way to explain the 50% of people who hold different beliefs than you is to convince yourself they're wrong and to demonize them to justify your own beliefs.

Yes, America is a mean country when it comes to politics, and it seems we find it harder and harder to work together towards common goals rather than focus on trivial disagreements.

Take politics out of the mix and we're all pretty cordial and get along fine.

  19. The left can be vicious thats for sure.

  20. Yes, I have always felt that America was a mean country, look at how they treat us, but can take care of people in other countries.

  21. The majority of Americans are not mean.  The liberal media, on the other hand, has access to millions of homes across the world and they take full advantage of that to spew their hatred and vulgarity.  Michelle also knows about meanness first hand as she was a 20-year member of a racist church where the congregation enthusiastically cheered and clapped when they heard anti-American, anti-white sermons from the pulpit.  Did you see the glee on their faces.

Yes, it's little wonder why Michelle would think this country was mean, isn't it?

  22. Black women are the meanest and Michelle is loving all these Bristol cutdowns, LOL!

  23. This is a proud day in America...WE AGREE ON SOMETHING!!

Seriously though, the attacks on Bristol are senseless and stupid and people need to mind their own d**n business when it comes to the minor children of candidates.

  24. Duh.

  25. Michelle Obama is nobody to have an opinion on anything that has to do with this country....SHE IS A RACIST!!

  26. The unfair attacks on Sarah Palin are rather mean, but The First Amendment protects rude behavior.

  27. Yep, have you seen the demonstrators at the RNC - they seem pretty mean to me!  Liberals and Democrats are inherently mean - no doubt about it!

  28. I can understand why she would think that. She belonged to a hateful anti-American racist church for over 20 years, and she's surrounded by vicious and hateful liberals.

  29. yep
