no, no one even knows if she actually existed. Mona Lisa isn't even her real name...that was given years after the painting was done. No one knows who she is...why Leo painted her...and some have even offered that's the face is of Da Vinci, he just turned himself into a women. Hrmmmm.

historians now say that she may have been, she is wearing a type of shawl (barely visible in the painting) that expectant and new mothers of that time period wore.

edit:

she was a real person, perhaps a land barron's wife, he had been commissioned to paint a picture of the man's wife, hence the mona liza.
