Was My Drink Spiked?

Hi,

I really need some advice on this. Last night I went on a second date with this guy that I met recently in a bar. I don't know any of his friends or anything but he seems lovely and I really like him and enjoy his company. I am really excited to have finally met someone I like so much and therefore don't want to stop seeing him. However last night towards the end of the evening I finished my last mojhito and I realised that I was feeling a lot drunker than I normally would and I had not had many drinks. My memory is really vague from then on and I don't remember what I was saying or leaving the place. I remember he got me a taxi and I must have said goodbye to him and the taxi took me home although I don't remember the journey.

When I got out I was feeling totally disorintated and sick and could barley walk, the 5 minute walk to my house took me ages because my legs hardly worked. When I got in I was really sick and then must have passed out. I could not go to work today as I was so ill and have barley eaten all day and still feel ill. My memory after that last drink he got me is so blurred.

We have arranged to meet again this week and he is going to cook me dinner at his house. I really like him and I would love to go. How do I know weather he spiked my drink though because if he did then I would not want to go round but equally I don't want to mess up having met someone so nice if it was not him. I can't ask him if he spiked my drink can I !? I don't know what to do, he does not seem like the type of person to do that but I can't stop thinking about how I felt last night. I most certainly did not drink enough to be drunk let alone violently sick. Any suggestions? Do I cancel seeing the most gorgeous and nice guy ever just because of this or do I just trust he didn't do it?

Thanks

  1. I don't think he did it. Perhaps your drink was spiked but I don't think the guy did it. People tend to spike drinks for their own gain, if he were to spike it, you would have woken up naked in his bed or something. He got you in a taxi home and left you to it.

Perhaps you drank more than you thought or the drink just got to your head that night.

Someone else could have spiked it, the drinks could have been strong. I've recently been told that some bar staff spike peoples drinks as well.

  2. i would not ask him if he spiked your drink ..if he did he would only deny it..it sounds like he spiked it or someone did. or maybe it could be you drank on an empty stomach that tends to make you more intoxicated because you dont have anything in your stomach to soak up the alcohol...it is odd sounding.. and also i want to say..if you have doubt in your gut about it you really should follow your instincts they are always right..im telling you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Yes, I think it was.  I also think him wanting to cook for you where he could easily spike the drink or any portion of the food is a very bad idea.  You are not ready to be alone with him.  You are very wise to be asking this question.  You need to find out everything you can about this guy before you ever see him again.

  4. Well it all depends on how many mojitos you had the whole night.  It could have been the bartender who just made ur drink a bit more stronger.  If you are having suspicions on whether he did something or not maybe u should bring it up in a convo that you got a little more drunk then u usually would and that ur body reacted differently then usual to the drink,... if he did something then by u probing him, he might think u know something and u will b able to tell by his voice. i would hate for u to go to this guys hm and him do something to ur food there and then take advantage and then the next morning him say it was all consentual..
