Energy is the number one issue in America and some people in Congress are trying to improve the situation. Was Nancy Pelosi smart to deny a vote on a bipartisan piece of legislation and choose rather to go on vacation?

  1. Well I guess its just her nature......cut and run............wonder if she is staying home due to the HIGH gas prices.............Lets see..here in Alaska I am paying $4.45 per gallon regular.  Although I am rather lucky as some towns here are paying almost $10.00 per gallon.

  2. Nancy Pelosi and "Smart" can't be used in the same sentence... it's an oxymoron

  3. Pelosi is a d**n communist in my opinion

  4. Nasty Pelosi is sly like a fox.  From a political standpoint, it was smart and typical.  Unfortunately, the voting public is blind and will still likely "reward" the "superb" policies of this "wonderful" democratically controlled (and oh so highly rated) congress.

  5. Yes.  Because she knows that the vote won't go her way (even her delegation will vote the way the people want).l  So it makes sense for he to cut and run

  6. Yes, the democrats have initiated 4 different energy bills in the last 2years that would immediately reduce the price of gas, ALL 4 were filibustered by republicans in the Senate.

She knew how bad the legislation was and the public attention that the republicans have put on this offshore drilling B.S. that WILL NOT reduce the cost of gas.  It was a good move to go on vacation, which has been scheduled for months and to go now so people can, oh I don't know, inform themselves about why gas prices are so high.

    -Windfall profits tax?  Nope.

-Forcing oil companies to drill on the 70% of bids they have and AREN'T drilling on now within one year or lose the bid?  Nope.

-Closing the 'enrone loopehole' that accounts for what economists estimate between 35-60% of the current cost of gas?  Nope.

-Switch out a percentage of petroleum for crude in the strategic reserve?  Nope.

Who said Nope?  Republicans.  They want to get more donations from Big Oil for the massive land grab that is all the "drilling offshore" c**p will do.  Who got $2million in donations the DAY AFTER they flipflopped on their decade long drilling offshore position?  McCain.
