  1. There are many sources to watch it yourself.   Youtube is a good one.  Both the mother and stepmother of Diana were seated well before the queen ever appeared.

  2. The Queen entered after Mrs.Shand-Kydd.Diana's mother had her own entrance, then the Royal family made their entrance.Diana and Earl Spencer were the last to enter with the wedding processional party.

They sat across from each other. The families were seated in the altar area, the Spencers on one side, the Queen,Philip,Elizabeth, the Queen Mother,Margaret(the Queen's immediate family members) on the other.

  3. The Queen, as tradition dictates, was the last to arrive at at St Paul's Cathedral, as all of the quests have been seated. Diana's mother Frances and her grandmother Lady Ruth Fermoy were allowed to take places very close the Royal Family, whilst her step-mother Lady Raine and Frances' new husband had to make do with pews behind.

  4. Ugh, Rachelle, Diana's grandmother was NOT "Lady Ruth Fermoy", she was Ruth, Lady Fermoy. Likewise, Diana's stepmother was NOT "Lady Raine", she was Raine, Countess Spencer or Lady Spencer. Read up on correct forms of address!

  5. No, the Queen always enters last, when all the other guests are in place. Then the bridal party enters.

  6. No, the Queen was the last person to enter with the exception of the Bride, the Groom and best man(Prince Andrew), the Bridal party and the Father of the Bride.

On their way up the aisle, the people entering turned a bowed/curtseyed to the Queen.

However, everybody stands (if they can) when the Queen enters and should not sit again until the Queen sits down.

BTW - the Queen is always HM (Her Majesty) never HRH (Her Royal Highness). HRH is reserved for other members of the Royal family.

  7. I don't think so.  As I remember it, HRH was the last guest seated just before the wedding music started.
