If so did he tried hard enough to save Jesus from his death so as to p**s off a God? Satan could have stop the people on the ground who were killing Jesus. Satan didn't, why? Or did Satan ever try or Satan was not smart enough to understand the death of Jesus?

What was Satan thinking when a God was about to die in human flesh. What does it mean to Satan?

I guess I'm asking to much too deep in thought. Maybe a pastor here could help out? Use logic please.

  1. Satan cannot force anyone to do anything; he can only tempt. Satan was more concerned with "killing Jesus", than understanding why Jesus was being killed, so he ended up a defeated being. He WAS and IS very intelligent, but in a scheming way, and he is blinded by pride and stubbornness.

When Jesus was about to die (and after He died), Satan was probably thinking, "Ah-ha!! I've won!!" Kind of like the gloating of the White Witch over Aslan's body in "Narnia". But they both lost, didnt they?

  2. He's a man of wealth and taste.

  3. Satan is more intelligent than us, but still not all-intelligent.  Like the Jews, he did not understand why Jesus came.  Being under the impression that Christ was going to establish a worldly kingdom, Satan sought for Christ's death to prevent what Satan though would be the fulfillment of the prophesies.  When Jesus died absent of a worldly throne, Satan thought he had won.

However, Christ was not speaking of a worldly throne alone, but of a heavenly kingdom; as the Old Testament prophesies also speak of.  Additionally, Christ will set up a worldly throne in Jerusalem, but only after He has prepared for the world for it by spreading the gospel to all nations.  Anyway, Satan misunderstood and thought he was defeating God's plan when in fact, he was helping to fulfill it.

That is why he is so ticked off - Satan himself was tricked.  His time is short, he knows it; which is exactly why things are escalating so rapidly these days.

  4. Here is a thought to ponder, why was satan cast out to begin with. there are many different thought on this one, that is, if you by into all of this. According to the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lucifer fomented the revolution after God rejected his alternative plan of salvation, wherein he had volunteered to take Jesus' place as God's emissary to humanity. Lucifer believed that mortals should have their free will revoked to prevent them from committing sins, to ensure their entry into Heaven.

  5. Biblically, Satan can not do something without God's express permission. It would then seem apparent that God did not allow Satan to interfere to that level.

  6. Satan, like all angels, is smarter than humans but he is not all-knowing, like God.

Satan thought that by killing Jesus he could thwart God's plan of salvation for humankind. He was wrong.

  7. He's cunning and does not understand love.

Sure, he is "smart", but his narcissism will/has get the better of him.

Why am I thinking of Voldemort? haha.

  8. Satan is a fallen angel, therefore he has the powers that angels have. He can act in supernatural ways, but he cannot do anything without the permission of God.

Remember that at the time of the crucifixion, no one knew what was really going on. Jesus' followers were devastated, watching their leader be persecuted so badly. His mother wept at his feet, and his disciples were embarrassed for him.

I'd imagine that at this point Satan was having a great time, encouraging those who beat Jesus and ridiculed him, and feeling superior over the situation. It looked pretty grim for any of Jesus' followers at the time, so you can see how Satan was probably enjoying it tremendously. No one understood the sacrifice that was being made or how vital it was to human history. I'm sure Satan was laughing in God's face, loving every minute of it.

It wasn't until after the crucifixion when people started realizing that there was something different. If the earthquake, sky darkening, and veil in the temple tearing wasn't enough, the guy's body was gone three days later, even though his tomb had more security than a Hannah Montana concert. I think that was the point at which everyone started saying, "something's not like it seems." When Jesus spoke to his disciples after his resurrection, that's when it all clicked as to WHY he went through what he did.

So, to answer your question, Satan could have tried to stop Jesus' crucifixion, but why would he want to? Also, it's unlikely God would have allowed him to. He had already tried, with no success, to tempt Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane right before his death. He just didn't know that Jesus' death was something to be feared- he thought it was a good thing.

  9. he is smart just not smart enough to understand he didnt try to save jesus, he was trying to possess us god was the ONLY HUMAN SLASH SPIRIT that was completely pure of all vil and if jesus got down we would be in h**l right now

  10. Was Satan or is Satan a smart fellow with an intelligent mind smarter than most humans?  Yes

If so did he tried hard enough to save Jesus from his death so as to p**s off a God? No

Satan could have stop the people on the ground who were killing Jesus. Satan didn't, why? I can not say I do not know the mind of satan and neither does anybody else.

We can not know what satan was thinking.

  13. Satan thought he had the victory when Jesus died on the cross but when He resurrected he knew he was defeated , his time is limited by God and he knows it is running out and he is deceiving all gullible people to follow him and take their eyes off from the Truth.

  14. Although Satan is against Jesus, he still has to do what Jesus tells him to do.

10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence(go away)*, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

    *words in parentheses added

God has the power to command even the beings that oppose Him.

  15. Satan was an angel who was thrown out of heaven for being jealous of God and tried to take over. Angels are smarter than humans. God has more power than Satan.
