he was a legend bless him, maybe he took things to the extreme a bit too much but that's why ppl loved him, his poor family must be beside themselves, i thought he was great

There was no doubt that Steve Irwin loved animals, but I perceived him as a hyperactive guy who took too many chances in the wild.  Steve had small children and should not have been so reckless.  Now they are fatherless. All for show business in the name of animal conservation.

Honestly. I think he was an idiot. He did care about the animals he worked with, granted, but he didn't give them the respect they deserved and that is why he is now Steve Irwin. Deceased.

Yes, I think so. He was not a naturalist in any meaningful sense, he was an entertainer who used animals as stooges. Whilst I was sorry to hear of his death, I was never a fan, and could not help but note the irony.

Not at all.  A daredevil is someone that takes extreme risks with a high chance of failure.  His knowledge of animals allowed him to do things that most people wouldn't attempt without any real danger.

He certainly was a daredevil and a positive person - an all round lovely bloke - its a big shame he died

He loved nature first, but anyone has to admit that the guy loved adrenaline.  That's why he hunted crocs and dangerous animals, not deer or rabbits.  I loved his enthusiasm!
