Did anyone notice how the superstars Candace Paker and Lisa Leslie received one game suspensions while less popular players such as Muriel Page and Shannon Bobbitt got more game suspensions?

  1. The suspensions are fair. This all started on the prior play when Cheryl Ford tried to take a rebound from Candace Parker. If the refs would have given them both technical fouls, the fight would have never happened.

Plenette Pierson gave Candace Parker a hip check during the box out for a potential rebound (on a free throw).

Candace did throw Plenette down unnecessary when they became entangled. However, Plenette had no business getting up and walking towards Candace. Candace was still on the floor when she approached.  Would you have done if someone was standing over you angrily? That's right, bring her down to your level and defend yourself.

Plus, WNBA players are after Candace because of the media hype. She needed to make a statement that she would defend herself and players should think twice before stepping to her like that in the future.

I was at the Sparks / Shock game a few weeks ago. Candace received a bloody nose when she went up for a rebound. No foul as called but LA won the game. I am sure she remember that Tuesday.

I think she should have gotten suspended for at least two games but Plenette started it with the hip check. The Shock players were likely pissed to lose their second straight home game and have LA sweep the season series.

I think they were easy on Plenette. She went nuts causing or at least contributing to injury her own teammate. Two or three people had to restrain her. They should have order she attend anger management class. Her behavior after the fact was uncalled for and unnecessary.

But, league definitely goofed by giving Candace only one game suspension. I am fine with the other suspensions, especially with them not punishing Deanna Nolan. She dived on Candace but was trying to stop the fight.

Perhaps the league went easy on Candace because they are pimping her to get more fans to attend the game. I guess it win for the league and Candace. There were 13k at the Detroit game. The average game attendance is about 8k.

The crime is that the refs were not penalized. They did a horrible job with calling the game.

  2. Muriel Page and Shannon Bobbitt simply left the bench and got a 2 game suspension. Parker, better known as the Messiah who have only seen the commercials with her in them and say she's the entire league, got one game for engaging in a fight. While not the aggressor, she was just as much of the problem and should have gotten at least 2 games. Lisa Leslie punched Mahorn before he pushed her and she flopped like she always does. She should have gotten 2 games just like he did.  They, Mahorn and Lesilie, were both wrong.

If Diana Taurasi, another superstar, can get 2 games for dropping the F-bomb and calling the ref a n**i, Leslie and Parker should have gotten their just reward too.

  3. Lisa Leslie didn't really do anything so one game was fine for her. Bobbit and Page left the bench and hit somebody so they got 2. I think Candace Parker and DMJ should have got 2 also. Otherwise they're fair.

  4. It was fair.

    Detriot started the whole ordeal.

Candace Parker and Lisa Leslie are the WNBA

    CP3 for life

  5. Dianna Taurasi got a 2 game suspension for being disrespectful of the refs....

Ellaine Powell got a 5 game suspension for punching Coco Miller

Lisa Leslie only got a 1 game suspension for punching Rick Mahorn????

Candace Parker only got a 1 game suspension for punching Pierson and throwing her down twice????

Milton-Jones only got a 1 game suspension for punching Mahorn in the back?????

What can possibly be fair about that???

If a punch get Powell five games, why does it only get Parker, Leslie, and Milton-Jones one game????

No there is nothing fair about these suspensions, the WNBA blew it big time!!!  They are obviously biased towards Star player who play in big market cities!!

The only thing they got right was Lisa Leslie trying to punch Rick Mahorn in the face.  It didn't show up on the first tapes of the fight, but was obvious in the new tapes.  I was there and saw her do it!

    It stinks!!!!!

  6. i agree that was unfair...candace started the whole thing n should get as much time as the girl she threw down... lisa knows she wasnt tryin to break up anything she was trying to join the fight... mahorn was obviously trying to play peacemaker so the ruling was unfair... the president of the league did a horrible situating the whole thing.... n the players will get to chose when they sit out since they have to have 5 players to play this is crazy... n did u know that the shock signed nancy liberman for a 7 game contract since they lost so many players... mind you she's 50 years old....  this whole ordeal was ridiculous and really hurts the league

  7. Candace Parker and Lisa Leslie are the WNBA.

If they didnt play you know how much the ratings will go down.

  8. NoBODY CARES ABOUT THE WNBA

  9. RICK MAHORN SHOULD BE GONE!!

UNLESS THE WNBA LOVE MEN THAT HIT THERE PLAYERS

WHO REALLY WATCHES THE WNBA  .PULL THE PUG ON THAT JOKE.
