  1. yes it was.  He injured it before the tournament.  Doctors onlt told him not to play not because he could reinjure it but because of the pain.  Hank haney is quoted saying that there was little to know chance of injuring it further during the tournament.  Getting hit by 300 pound linemen is fine but if you have ever had a stress fracture it can be extremely painful.  When you walk 30 miles over 5 days and know that every swing you take you will get an emmense pain in your knee and you go out and beat everyone that is amazing.  To over come that pain took mental strength beyond imagination.  Not only did he have to deal with the pain but also focus on the tournament.  Also he to pain medication which helped him some what.  I know from experience that and pain medication would force you to lose your focus.  Tiger is one of a kind and I am amazed at what he has accomplished

  2. No... not in a million years.  So his knee hurt.  It's not like he was being chased by 300 lb linemen, getting checked by a man travelling at 30 mph over the ice, taking an elbow by a man over 7 ft tall, or running at a full sprint for 90 minutes.  The level of athleticism that is needed for golf compared to other pro sports does not put Tiger's accomplishment into the category.  Please, how many sports can people play, and play well, into their 80's.  Tiger's performance is not even close.

  3. Why doesn't anyone ever question all of tiger's competition..They basically suck..Where are the Lee Trevino's,Gary Players,Tom Watson's,Arnold Palmer's,Ray floyd's,Tom Weispholf's,Jonny Miller's,Greg norman's,Hale Irwin's...Or even seve ballosterous,just to name a few..

Tiger won on a bum knee against a bunch of minor leaugers compared to jack's era..This is crazy, and to prove my point..The ryder cup teams the last few times around..They have been beaten baddly..I wonder why!...

  4. Yes, but now, because he did not follow his doctors orders,

his re-surgery will cost him, for the rest of the year.I hope all his fans, learn from his mistake, as well as his experience.

  5. No! I dont think it was the greatest display ever. The man has talent, determination, drive and wants to be the best ever. Even he, probably, didn't realize how truly injured he was and his running ,stationary bike work and regular exercises never hinted the  condition  he had. Had the tournament ended at 72 holes, there might have been a different story. He wouldn't have had to put pressure on an already bad  ACL or knee surgery and might have taken a couple of months for healing rather than the balance of the year which may include more  cutting and sewing.

  6. no, but it was a h**l of a gutsy effort by the greatest in the world...

  7. No, Muhammad Ali fighting Joe Frazier with a broken jaw after the 1st round was the greatest display ever.

  8. yes b/c an all other sports if you have a fractured stick and a shredded knee your out for the season. Tiger freakin Woods walked the longest course in US Open history for a week straight plus the 19 hole playoff monday...ON A FRACTURED LEG AND BUM KNEE!!!..lets any of you doubters pull that off. Last time I checked your knees and legs are important in a golf swing and well he basically won the US Open on one leg..just sayin...and to the guy who says the talent after Tiger is weak..umm how bout Lefty, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Fred Couples, Vijay Singh..your comment is weak and makes me vomit blood.

  9. No, it was a display of immense stupidity on his part.   He may never play again according to some reports.....

  10. Golf is not the most athletic sport so while the performance was extraordinary and probably legendary, it is not the "greatest display of athleticism ever".

What it was was one of the most gutsy athletic performances ever. It is similar to Michael Jordan playing in the finals while so sick they had to give him fluids via and IV. It's like Byron Leftwich playing on a broken ankle while his teammates carried him down the field. There have been countless similar performances. Within golf however it is probably the best.

  11. In addition to being the greatest exhibition of determination.

Golf hasn't changed and yet, Tiger has outscored everyone mentioned above.

Minor leaguers? I think you have a chip on your shoulder.

  12. nope, Tiger woods is an Arrogant POS

  13. Haha no, golf is not even a sport, how do you tear an acl walkin on a golf course? In any real sport u wouldnt be even be on the field of play with that injury, people are saying this proves golf is a sport when it does the exact opposite, how athletic can it be if someone can do it with a torn acl? If gold is a sport then so is bowling, pool, darts etc. and what kinda sport has a senior division? lol i can go on forever

  14. Perhaps, but also one of the most foolish. He was playing on a broken Tibia and torn ACL. I hope he can recover from his upcoming surgery and hasn't permenently ruined his playing career.
