  1. Are you Joking?  Ayala's biggest weakness is that he was as FEARLESS,  as a boxer could be, OF ANYTHING, not just other boxers.  Ayala routinely broke ANY and EVERY rule he could, not just because he wanted to prove anything but because IT's WHO HE IS.

I remember when he fought Robbie Epps.  The referee pulled Ayala off Epps, who was taking a horrific beating on the roaps.  Ayala walks halfway to a neutral corner then, as the camera focused on the very dazed Epps, you see Ayala  RE-ENTER the screen and pummel Epps some more.  IT's as if HE was unaware that the ref pulled HIM off the OTHER FIGHTER.

I'm not really sure where your question originates but I DOUBT very serious that Ayala had ANY FEAR of Benitez.  Tony obeyed his dad SOMETIMES.   There is a small possibility that his father might hav had some reason for not fighting Benitez.  I'm SURE FEAR had NOTHING to do with it.

I dont think Ayala really knew the meaning of the word fear.  Even when he raped and sodomized that woman in January 84 he was caught primarily because he was seen walking around half naked outside the place where the rape took place,  while the poor woman was left tied, face down, to the bed.

Ayala had a severe drinking problem and just didn't have the ''awareness'' that he could ever be in any kind of danger.  Fighting was the EASIEST part of his life.  The main reason he spent so much time behind bars is because he just didn't seem to realize that what he did was wrong.

  2. ayala was probably another year away from challenging for a title, there was no need to rush, but then he didn't expect to be sent to jail.

  3. are you insane? Ayala was too stupid to be afraid of anyone much less benitez who does not have the punch to crack an egg. ayala would have torn through him like a knife on hot butter.

  4. Ayala wasn't afraid to fight anyone.

He had more nerve than sense.

He would have fought anyone at anytime, if his father allowed it.
