No, "were" you "a dial up kid"? Or have you ever had one?

Yes. I had RCN dialup internet when I was young. Then, I upgraded to Verizon DSL, and then I got Comcast, which is what I am using now.

started out with costco free internet (disconnected every 27 minutes was d**n hard to d-ld a song then) on my 14.4 modem

then got a 56k modem and moved to no charge free internet

after that we got DSL
