I just read that fans were throwing stuff onto the field after Ron Gardenhire got tossed from the game.

  1. Both Skipper Gardy and the fans deserved to be angry by a dumb call from the 3rd plate umpire. But surely, throwing caps is one thing, but food and baseball is another.

This behavior is something you wouldn't expect from Twins fan, but I guess they've just shown that they love their team just as much as Yankees and Red Sox fans love their team.

I was watching the game on TV and was thinking, "What's going on here?"

Being a Twins fan in Minnesota, I know that we aren't the type who'd do such a thing, but I guess I'm only one fan out of the 34 some thousand that attended.

  2. I watched the game on TV and I am from MN.  The plate umpire clearly blew the call.  Although the fans should have not throw stuff [hats and I think a ball] on the field, the umpires are becoming the "10th" man on the field.  It is frustrating to see a game decided based on the umpires - however, the Twins pulled it out and in this case, the umpire call was moot.

  3. I was at the game tonight. The way our fans acted was really unacceptable. It started off with some hats being thrown on the field, but then the objects turned into bigger and more dangerous things. Fans shouldn't be throwing things on the field that requires the opposing players to leave the field for a few minutes until things are under control.

  4. i watched it all on tv....it wasn't that bad, all they did was throw a few hats...and there were like 2 baseballs that got thrown...i would of been pissed too with that bad call
