Question:

Was anyone else disappointed with the partisanship at the RNC last night?

Both party's candidates have claimed to be willing to reach across party lines during this election and this was put into action during the DNC by Obama and others.

For this reason, I was really disappointed at Fred Thompson and Bush Jr.'s speeches last night. All the "liberal" this and "angry left" comments did not sound very bipartisan. Was this supposed to make people believe that McCain would be willing to work with both parties if he were elected? Frankly, I was not convinced.

Did anyone else notice the anger directed at Democrats last night?

  1. How come all the Rebups aren't swarming to defend themselves? Wasn't last night a representation of their beliefs?

  2. No. No worse then the Obummer camp...

  3. lol, i didnt watch it, tho i heard all it about it on tv this morning.. and its funny bc i think they said something to the effect of 'democrats being so angry and bitter'... FUNNY.

  4. They are the angry left and they will not stop us from speaking our mind is what we are saying...and did you notice all the hate towards Bush at the DNC the other night?

  5. so the democrats directed anger towards the republicans during the DNC. whats your point.

all this finger pointing and name calling will get us nowhere. just as lieberman said last night.

  6. Is this anything new?  Remember the history on this guy, Bush and where he stands with the American public right about now.

In other words, consider the source. The man has NO credibility whatsoever.

  7. I don't know what part of the DNC you watched. But I watched the majority and most of it was aimed at slamming the Republicans and GWB. So you are either a liar or never watched the DNC and are making this up for your own benefit.

  8. This is his last chance and that breeds fear in them... McCain hoped for a legacy. He is unlikely to get one now, and he knows this. His pick of a VP running mate a week before the election proved it... what he desperately thought would pan out is proving to be more of a hindrance, his judgment called further into question.

It is a convention, you go with what you got. Bitterness is all they can muster. Most of the Republicans won't touch him with a ten foot pole.

  9. that might be true, but not like the anger and violence that came from the democrats who slashed tires and set things on fire like they did at the republic convention

  10. I didn't watch it - i watched Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic.

However, what good are parties if there is no partisanship?

This so called non partisanship has given us a massive government, that has more power than ever necessicary.

You dont want both parties to agree on raising taxes. You want one to fight for elimination of a tax, and the other to fight for maintaining or raising it.

You dont want both parties to agree on abortion being legal, you want one to fight to make it illegal, and one to fight to keep it legal.

You do not want both parties to urinate on the constitution (the document written to limit politicians power), you want one to defend it, and expect the other to try to avoid its restraints.

Now, this "non partisianship" is simply argument over where the growth in government size will be.

*And by the way... There is no left in the democrat party. The democrats have been taken over by the neocons. We have 1 party called the republicrats, it is for a bigger government, and less freedom & liberty.

You have taken rodney kings "cant we all just get along" into a realm where getting along should NEVER be the case.

  11. Yes.....George Bush comparing the Democrats ("the angry left") to the Viet Cong was a little over the top, don't you think?  Do you see what Hillary means when she talks about the millions of Americans who are "invisible" to their president?  No, there won't be any national unity any time soon, that's for sure.

  12. Notice Republicans

1.Use broad undefined words to brainwash people.

    2. Answer every question with lies and deflections.

    3. Promise to regulate private lives while they sell the country from under our feet.

    4. Ignore any facts that don’t support their views:  the price of gas, the deficits, and the number of homes foreclosures, as well as, rising poverty and “outsourcing” America.

5.Ignore that a vote for McCain is approval for 8 more years of pulling money out of the middle class.

    6.     Enjoy listening to puppets read one line of rhetoric once a day, stay the course.

    7. Ruthless and hypocritical.

    8.    Eyes, mind, and feet are focused on death in heaven while America is sold to the highest bidder, Big Oil, China, and Walmart.

    9.    Only have one issue and that is to regulate a woman's uterus, never mind family privacy, war killing, orphan children, tubal pregnancies, or becoming a surrogate for unwanted.  Does life end at birth?

    10.   Put money, church, sports and entertainment before country.

  13. It is the same way at all the conventions whether it is Democrats or Republicans. The whole objective of the Convention is to nominate your canidate and get the party fired up for the election. This leads to a lot of partisan attacks from both sides to make the case that their party should be elected to office in the fall.

  14. It's the Republican convention so it is to be expected.  Still, I wish they had been a little less confrontational.  I think the Dems displayed a fair amount of partisanship, but also tried to show they were willing to work with Republicans and Independents more than the Reps showed last night.

  15. I will say that some of the speakers, not all, made and effective case for mccain, even if it was slandering the Opponent.

But here's what I hate about Conservatives at that convention: They're rhetoric implies that Obama and democrats don't love america. Or that Repubes are the only ones who fight for this country, or die or bleed for America. They ignore their wrongs. Amplify their rights.

    That's very insulting.

  16. Calling the left 'angry' and at the same time trying to get the Clinton votes don't really go hand in hand...haha

  17. No. It's a partisan convention. Did you miss Obama's speech last Thursday night???

  18. I don't think you were watching the same channel as I.

  19. That "angry left" comment by Bush really stuck out as being particularly divisive and mean-spirited.

  20. It's a convention of course it's going to be biased, that's what they are.  I will say, if you think the DNC was unbiased, tell me how many Republican Senators made keynote speeches at it?

  21. don't watch then, just go to your big obama pep-rally's
