  1. He drove a good race today, and got some points on the board.

Both Renaults were in the points today!

  2. Ye I thought it was great that he held hamilton back, and he did have a great race.

  3. yeah i agree, he had a good race, he wasnt put off by hamilton and he came good from alonso's mistakes

  4. Yes. He was wayback in quali. ANd somehow he managed to finish ahead of Alonso. This will definitely boost his confidence and hopefully he'll be able to be more of a threat to Alonso. And if he keeps doing better or as well as this weekend, he'll be around longer

  5. Compared to Alonso, he had a much better race and I'm glad to see the team get a good overall result.  Piquet still made some mistakes including that exit from the pits where he just let Heikki go by. Tonights result is good for him but not enough to make up for his c**p start to the season.

  6. "Not driver of the day but he didn't let Hamilton put him off, dove perfecly and capitalised on Alonsos' mistake." = exactly right.

He did really well today and didn't let others faze him.

    Good man! :)

  7. he did well today and should give himself a well deserved pat on the back. I thought it was great when he took Fernando. I almost thought he'd lose it again, but he held on. A good day for him I think. Lets hope he keeps it up eh:)

  8. He's a good driver but he needs to start posing as a serious threat to his rivals. With Neel Jani & Bruno Senna knocking on the door every now & then, he wont have much to defend if he doesnt get ATLEAST 1 podium this year

  9. alonso was negotiating with one f d force indias n piquet took d adv.

  10. yeah,i thought he done well and to the guy that said he has taken to long to impress him, well all i can say is Nelson didn`t really know the tracks well at the start of the season, and he said that himself and he will do better once they get to european tracks..so he will need to impress everyone from now onwards, and i think he will..good for him

  11. he over took alonso two time worldchampion.

thats all i can say :)

    well done to him!

  12. he was the luckiest man on the track. let us see him next race if he's really improving.

  13. Sort of.  He finished ahead of Alonso, who had a scruffy race, and that makes Nelson Jr.'s race seem bigger.

Alonso had been extracting better results out of his lemon for the whole year, but he didn't do it here and Piquet pipped him.

I guess what I should say is that Piquet drove well, used his strategy well, but he took too many races to impress me.

  14. Maybe he is just getting used to his machine ??

I suppose a race is a better learning curve than testing days

  15. Yes, he was very level headed and didn't make mistakes unlike Alonso.

Alonso, in my book is still overrated though some can't seem to accept this, he always drops the ball one way or another.

He did it numerous times last year in the McLaren apart from being outpaced and has been doing it so fat this year too, only has his good low fuel qualifying performances to show.

  16. Piquet will have a strong European season on tracks he already knows well. Holding off both McLarens until his car let him down exiting the pits was a great effort. Passing Alonso was lucky, but it was a nice way to finish a good weekend. Hamilton was the one who looked ragged in their half-a-dozen or so laps racing each other.
