That whole opening scene was always so blatantly fake i did not even think they were trying to pass it off as real until the news item on the monday.

  1. fake fireworks, fake singer, fake ages for gymnasts none of it surprises me.

  2. On NBC, the announcers clearly stated that those fireworks had been "digitally enhanced", so I did not feel misled at all. With the scope that those opening ceremonies took on, I figured they had to have had some "help". It was still amazing, and the symbolism behind the footprint fireworks was really neat.

  3. Not surprised.  It is the Olympics.  Also faked was the girl singing "Hymn To The Homeland",  the guy running around the stadium, and etc.

  4. The fireworks werent fake. there actually were firework footprints in china. however, b/c they are fireworks of course, a helicopter cant fly over it and film it without risking their safety. instead, they just showed a CGI-ed version of it to people who werent personally in Beijing. nbc made sure to tell people that it was digital before they aired it.

so, in conclusion, it wasnt fake nor was there any misleading going on.

  5. nah, not surprised.

they weren't all fake though. just some.

    they looked cool though

  6. Like many people on here you are just repeating what you have read, it was stated that it was enhanced before they showed it, I guess you missed that part.
