  1. I think he was fired prematurely.  He was fired for an accusation of sexual harassment, not ever been convicted or charged with sexual harassment.  That's why ESPN is going to pay the rest of his $5 million contract.

  2. They didn't want to have any future issues with him (because if I remember right, he was fired for sexual harrassment). I don't blame them for doing it, and I don't miss Reynolds a bit. I just wish they'd get rid of Eric Young.

  3. It was a minor misunderstanding between him and a female employee and not this big sexual harassment issue that was calimed to be.

Espn was looking to make some cuts and they took this misunderstanding between Reynolds and the female involved and ran with it so they could get rid of him.

His dismissal was unfair and unjust.

  4. He and ESPN settled out of court. In other words, they gave him money to go away. I've seen him on TBS and he's atrocious.

  5. Probably, since ESPN settled the lawsuit -- though that's mostly a way of saying "enough, we're paying the lawyers too much." Doesn't matter.

I cannot watch ESPN anymore except for actual games.

To add: yes, sexual harassment is a serious matter, and beyond that, it is a hornet's nest that most employers never, ever want to get near. They just terminate the instigator if there is any substantiation to the matter. Dealing with a lawsuit for wrongful termination is much preferred to dealing with a lawsuit for sexual harassment. (I've seen this happen at a former employer. A whiff of allegations came up -- by someone with a well-known history of such things -- and they simply cashiered him, quickly and somewhat quietly, despite his rather lofty position.)

  6. No he got fired by ESPN for sexual harassment, I don't think ESPN is the major factor for cable being costly

  7. I may be wrong but I thought he was cleared of any wrong doing.  He's on TBS now.

  8. Sexual harassment is a big deal, so I don't think they treated him unfairly.  Any company would have reacted the same way--to do otherwise would leave them open to lawsuits!

Speaking to your second question, I don't think you can blame ESPN alone for your high cable bill.  It's a cumulative thing, each channel costs your provider, and they have to pass it along to you as well as make a profit.  If you had fewer channels available with basic cable, you'd be upset about that, too, and you can't have it both ways!

  9. Yes he was. He gave a person a hug. How in the heck is that sexual harassment? It was such a shame Harold Reynolds was great for ESPN and ESPN has never receovered since he got fired. I wouldn't say that ESPN is a major factor for basic cable rates being so high I think it's the greedy cable companies that make it so high.
