is it just me or was anyone else expecting a little bit more out of breaking dawn i mean don't get me wrong i liked it i just felt that there could have been a bit more conflict with Bella being a newborn.it was a little fast paced for me what with how quickly she adapted to the lifestyle. and there wasn't as much dialog between other characters as i would of hoped.

what does everyone else think. was there anything else you were expecting from the book?

  1. i liked it

there should have been an epiloge of like ten years later tho.

remember SM had to finish that book fast to make the dead line.

  2. I loved it, but I do have my complaints. The dialog between characters was lacking, and the conflict with the Volturi was pointless...well I guess it would have left a huge hole if they hadn't tried to kill Renesmee but it could have been shorter, and not built up all of our hopes for a fight...also I felt like characters were acting out of character at times, also I would have loved to have seen a 10 years later type thing, but I think they may leave the door open for sequels, from Renesmee's perspective *crosses fingers*...but other then that I was satisfied.

I think it was as good an ending as we could have hoped for..

  3. nope. except i hoped there would have been a war in it because it was slightly dull without one.

  4. I couldn't agree with you more, there was not enough conflict AT ALL, it was all too candy-coated.

I think she set a very high standard for herself, and everyone was expecting Breaking Dawn to go above and beyond the other 3 books, but unfortunately it fizzled out. Don't get me wrong, Stephenie Meyer is one of my idols, but I did expect much, much more...

  5. Jacob imprinting on Nessie was a great way to solve the love triangle between Jacob, Bella, and Edward. It also provided some hope for a future story.

The confrontation with the Volturi was a page turner, and I liked the fact that a war didn't break out because I didn't want to lose any of my favorite characters.

Bella and Edward's Honeymoon sequence left much to the imagination, which is good since there are some younger readers, and also because it's always better to fill in your own blanks.

Bella's transformation into a vampire was a little graphic, but still awesome! I thought it was tasteful enough, especially for a vampire story.

Overall, I thought that it was a great read. The only problem is that I wanted to keep reading after it was done.

  6. The story was good, except for the fact that Bella gets pregnant at the age of 18. That is a little bit inappropriate, especially that many teenagers are reading it or have read it already.

  7. I loved breaking dawn i think it was alright! i thought their could have been a little more of an ending but all in all i liked the book all of the books!

  8. My one complaint with it is that Bella became way too powerful way too quickly.

  9. it sucked. jacob and nessie was revolting, bella was super cocky and vain, everything worked out too perfectly for her, all the characters got really annoying, and bella and edward became horny s*x demons. it was so bad i had to stop three quarters of the way through for fear of vomiting on my computer.

  10. Bella is a mary sue wish fulfillment character, so her easily adapting to the blood lust didn't surprise me in the least. There isn't much I like about these books beside Jacob and Charlie, so I can't really say I was let down. My expectations weren't all that high to begin with. I must agree that the non-climax with the volturi (sp? I don't care enough to check) was most disappointing, not to mention the disturbing 'birth scene' and of course the Jacob imprinting cop out of the century. Its a shame, but don't let it bother you. There are plenty of great books out there that won't let you down.

  11. Yes, I was disappointed and more than a little revolted at the birth scene. It seemed Meyer was trying to make a point out of grossness there. Chewing the baby out of the uterus and amniotic sac? Reminiscent of Alien vs Predator in my opinion.

And yes, the lack of conflict was mighty disappointing. Bella's amusingly clumsy in the first 3, but in the last, it seems she can do no wrong. She is TOO perfect.

I have to say, though, that I wasn't gearing myself up so I avoided a disappointment. But I was still annoyed.

  12. I liked it but I felt that there could have been a bit more action in the confrontation between the Cullens and the Volturi. Also, I would have liked an epilogue or something similar that game more conclusion to the book. Nevertheless, it was a great book.
