Was bulletproof glass used in UK police reception areas in 1983?

This is research for a project i'm doing. Hard to find info on the internet. Speedy responses please!

I don't know of a Police station that had any sort of glass in the reception areas, I presume you mean as a shield. Even now an awful lot don't have anything between the Officer and the public.

No, not usually, there's no need. when's the last time someone walked int to police station with a gun - it doesn't happen. however, some will i.e. the one where they hold terrorists in london (paddington green?) it's supposedly a fortress.
