  1. No.  That's ridiculous.

CONGRESS DOES NOT DETERMINE GAS PRICES OR OIL PRICES.

    No political party does EITHER.

There's MANY reasons why fuel costs what it does; foreign policy (most of our oil doesn't come from us), and mainly it comes from speculators.

Drill will not do anything to help your fuel prices in any stretch.  The reason why politicians are bringing it up is to get people fired up about it, in order to get your vote.

Our problem isn't a production problem- it's a consumption problem.  21 billion barrels of oil a year is a LOT.  And we make less than 9 Billion... 1 barrel = 40 gallons of crude oil... 1barrell refines into aprox 19 gallons of gas.  60% of our crude oil goes to production of gasoline for transportation.

You're doing nothing but bring up a blame game.  The people that should be to blame are the American people for having no foresight.

  2. Where did you get the notion that congress has anything to do with gas prices ? Go back to school and pay attention this time, moron !

  3. Congress doesn't vote to drill. Oil companies choose to drill or not. They already have hundreds of leases which they've chosen to ignore. Even if Congress parceled out all the environmentally sensitive areas to drillers today, it would be years before any new oil from them would appear on the market.

Gas prices are up because OPEC is raising prices and China & India are raising demand. Grow up and accept it.

  4. They opened millions of acres cut royalty fees, but republican congress gave wink and nod to manipulation of option prices.

  5. thats what democrats do best.
