  1. It's absurd to suggest that hubris and and arrogance are an intended result of anything. As if they said, "Gee, I wish we could be more arrogant."

  2. I think at one point, feminism had a legitimate place and time, but that era has long passed.  As with most theories or philosophies with otherwise pure and righteous intentions, it became corrupted.

Modern Feminism is a purely hate-driven philosophy, and awfully insidious in its proliferation.  I'm not sure that this was the intention of the so-called "first wave movement," but the result is this catastrophic situation we have now.

  3. Ah...another one of those men who views women living their own lives without his permission to be "arrogance."

I come to GWS to remember why I'm a feminist.

  4. I don't know of any examples of female hubris and arrogance ,can this be the perception of a male chauvinist, who considers independence in women as an affront to his ego?

  5. If you substitute the word 'arrogance' for 'self-esteem' you have a more obvious answer - yes. Sadly although we hear a lot about the problems of low self-esteem, its only recently that we have clearly seen the effects of self-esteem that is too high, and leads the the sense of entiltlement seen in feminists to say what they want about men and do what they like to men, no matter how outrageously prejudiced or discriminatory.

As for hubris, feminsts have always known there would be a backlash to their anti-male rhetoric and behaviour. They wouldn't call it hubris, but then they're just way too arrogant to see the widespread reappraisal of feminism as anything other than the result of testosterone and misogyny.

  6. Not intended, but there nonetheless, a lot less so these days however. BTW, hubris means arrogance so saying hubris (literally "wanton arrogance") and arrogance together is redundant.

  7. No.  Hubris is defined as extreme pride leading to a downfall.  How could women of the past fall when men were already holding them down?
