Question:

Was feminism born out of fear and hate and jealousy?

Is it true that feminism (which is a misnomer because many of those people are very un-feminine) was born out of fear and hate and jealousy?

Should those who wear the feminism label really get a broader perspective on life and examine their cult more closely? Perhaps it is not what they may think it is.

  1. lol lol do you really want to find out how stupid your question is?

Because you are right to truly accept the biological, socio-cultural reality of women's subordination to men, we must embrace our femininity and through it all never forget to wax, lie there and take it and stand by your man!

As for being a cult...alter one letter and you have my opinion in a nutshell...lol

  2. Both.

  3. I don't think so but it definatly went that way

  4. 100 years ago it was a fight for basic rights.  Today it's founded on hatred of males.

  5. Feminism was born out of discrimination. But those who wear the feminism label do need to get a broader perspective on life and examine their cult more closely.  Some them just went haywire with hate.

  6. Is this a question or a statement of your own belief?

Feminism came about due to a lack of freedom. Over-all it was a good thing.

There are always down-sides to every progressive step society takes.

In every group of people , there are always those who just want a reason to be angry.

  7. No! It began with many females wanting to realise their potential.

  8. It was created at a time when working men had gained the vote and political rights. This created an advance in men's lives mostly in the workplace. Women saw the advantages men gained and so followed suit by gaining the vote.

Yes now feminists are in a cult that has nothing to do with the orginal goals of the feminists.

  9. there is no singular feminist label but a recognition that within all social and economic groupings women are in a subordinate position. If you can name one society where woman are treated as equals you could undermine the whole concept of feminism as a sociological perspective, until then I must accept feminism as a valid concept.

  10. I've been called a 'hippie liberal feminist' a few times, and I've never considered it true. I don't hate men, I believe in gender equality. Feminism used to be about having rights and being independents, being actual people. What is it now? I don't know, but it's founded on the idea of equality and I think that is what we should still be striving for.

  11. And perhaps it's not what you think it is, and your opinion is irrelevant to us.

  12. The two sexes were not made to compete they were made to co-operate and compliment.

Some can't let go of the bitterness of what happened in the past, we should never forget but neither should we create more problems by trying to 'out-do' men to prove that females are better or to get back at the male s*x. None of us are better then the other, we are merely here together whether we like it or not and power struggles help no one.

Feminism began for very good reasons, let's be clear on that, and yes sometimes in day to day life women still suffer at the hands of sexist men who still believe in the old ways but it's far less now then ever before in the western world at least. But so do men suffer when they are not seen to be masculine enough or doing their 'duty' as a man, will we ever be able to iron out these creases? I think not because people are people and none of us are perfect. We can only strive to help eachother make this world a fairer more co-operative place regardless of what s*x we are.

Has feminism spiralled out of control? for some women yes, I think it was a good thing and should only have ever strived for equality and never superiority.
