My daughter was walking home with some friends today and they only live on the other side of the block from. So my daughter was walking down the sidewalk towards our house when she heard a car behind her. She didn't look back or run, but she could tell it was slowing down so she cut across our neighbors yard and then the car sped up. We are both kind of worried about this and she couldn't get the license number becuase it was gone to fast to really see anything, and she couldn't tell if it had pulled over or not. So my question is would he have tried to kidnap, rape, or otherwise abuse her?

  1. You don't know. Your daughter reacted very fast., which was good. The way the world is  there is no time to be hesitating. She didn't feel right about the situation. It is up to you to make sure she continues to react because of safety and not have her paranoid about things. That's kind of tough; Don't you agree? It's hard raising a child and keeping them safe. But no one can tell you what that person was or going to do, the events never unfolded.

  2. that's what it sounds like to me, maybe that's why i walk to pick up my kids from school everyday. you can not trust no one these days. but i would let the police know about it

  3. Nobody can answer that question since nothing happened and your daughter did not have a conversation with that person. She did the right thing. Tell her to always trust her instint better safe then sorry.

  4. oh yes and i would contact the police about the car even if you dont have the license plate you can give a description of the car just in case he comes back and try to mess with her or another kid i think that was smart of her to cut through the neighbors yard tell the cops and im sure they will start patrol in your neighborhood its happened by my house i actually reported a suspicious vehicle driving slow by a park with kids and i called the cops and you know that guy actually was caught trying to run off with a 3year old 2days later the same vehicle and plates i reported but the amber alert is so great the mom has her baby back

  5. How the heck is anyone supposed to answer this question? Nobody could possibly know the intentions of a stranger described on the internet.

  6. It is possible. I would report it to the police and maybe ask for drive bys before school and after school. That way if someone is casing the neighborhood, the sight of the police may scare them away.

  7. It is always a possibility. You cannot know what his intention was. What she did was smart.

  8. Your daughter acted smart, but add this to her repertoire of safety tips: Pull out her cell phone and start making a call, to anyone, just get someone on the phone. This usually scares off any potential creeps out there.

  9. Good thinking daughter, continue to be extra careful
