  1. I think it was boring & it was Hopkins fault.  He would hit Calzaghe with an lead right hand & then hold.   I admit I was one of the guys who picked Hopkins to win & he did absolutley nothing.   Calzaghe won the fight easy.

  2. Joe barely won a split decision over a 43 years old man. How do you called it really embarassed with just a split decision?

  3. It was a decent fight far from the most boring fight I ever seen though. Far as Calzaghe embarassing Hopkins he clearly did not do that. He barely won the fight on the cards and could not even come remotely close to even hurtimg hopkins once. I agree with the decision that Joe won but he didnt look good doing it and though a lot of that blame is on hopkins , regardless  calzaghe won and win is a win but he didnt look good at all in there doing it , he almost looked  just like a regular fighter in there.

  4. s**t was boring

Too much clinching and acting..... hopkins should win an oscar and calzaghe the award 4 being overrated and 4 not being able to win convincingly against a 43 yr old.

  5. Yeah the fight was pretty boring, Bernard kept clinching to the point that I wanted the ref to step in and tell him to stop or he would start taking points away. I mean if your allowed to clinch for 80% of the fight then yeah Bernard could box until he's 60. Calzaghe wanted to make an impressive U.S. debut, but Bernard ruined that by making it a very dissapointing fight.

  6. i thought it was a good fight, only because clazaghe won.  i really hate hopkins.  he is such an arrogant douchebag.  i am glad clazaghe made him eat his words.

  7. This fight was boring and I'll tell you why.

    1. Calzaghe doesn't hit hard enough to excite anybody. Those "flurries" do about as much damage as my 7-month old smacking me with an open hand.

    2. Any defensive fighter who has ever fought is boring. ( a la Floyd, B-hop and others.) They either clinch too much or dance too much not a fun thing to watch.

    3. The higher the weight class, in most cases, the lower the output of punches. Checkout a bantam or featherweight fight and you'll see the difference.  These guys in the lower weight classes throw about a 100 punches a round.

So to answer your question no, not a good fight.

  8. I thought it was a pretty good fight. After the first round, Hopkins didn't really seem to be in it. Calzaghe just dominated. He had him backing up and reeling the whole night.

I'm glad Calzaghe won, Hopkins is a d**k and now people can start realizing how good Calzaghe is

  9. I think it was an interesting fight, and Im more than happy that Calzaghe won over that arrogant creep Hopkins. Then  we even had the nerves to say that he won and gave stupid excuses.

  10. In my opinion it wasn't. And thank God it wasn't p.p.v. Neither dominated, Hopkins showed a lot of old school moves and a great future as an actor. Calzaghe looked wild most of the time and when he threw his flurries they hit arms and shoulders, no solid shots that would have hurt Hopkins.

Hopkins should hang them up like he promised his mom 3 years ago, now with a loss he will probably continue because he wont go out like that. (too much ego).

Calzaghe needs to tighten his defense, yes he is fast with them flurries and has never been beaten, but he throws wild blind punches and Hopkins made him pay in the first. No doubt Calzaghe won but pleeeeze no rematch!
