driver, but not at fault, and is now very afraid to drive. This is what he does for a living!!! The other parties insurance company wants to pay him 2,500 for his car that really wasn't worth that but he uses it for work. $500. for his injuries which was only a scratch and $2,000 for 6 days of work he missed. What about for his traumatic experience? Shouldn't they pay him for that? I think $13,000 - $20,000 total for evrything is a good amount then we will call it a day, the insurance company told him to name a price and they will consider it. My husband doesnt think they will pay that much, unless we get a lawyer. Do you think thats a bit to much to ask for? I sure don't!

I think you should try for it. I am sorry to hear about the accident but am glad everyone is not hurt physically. As for emotionally I hope your hubby works through it and everything turns out. But definitely try for the amount you are after and if unsure try legal aid and see if they can help. Good luck and god bless.  :)

Ask for $50,000. ; settle for $20,000.  That's how it's done.

see a therapist to deal with his fear.  he can't be footbound because of an auto accident.  as for the other stuff, get your insurance carrier to deal with their insurance carrier.  his car is only worth blue book value and often it's easier for them to pay that amount than have the car fixed on their dime.  as for emotional distress and time off work, you'll need a lawyer probably.  make sure you have the police report showing what the other driver did and admitted to doing.

i think that is a very reasonable price hey i got hit by a car once and they paid me $26,000 without a lawyer so your not asking for much especially if the accident was the other mans fault
