Question:

Was it a contraction?

I'm 31 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Throughout the last month or so I've been having Braxton Hick Contractions. A couple nights ago I woke up to a pretty bad cramping sensation in my lower abdomen, I've never had that feeling before, and was just wondering if it could have been a contraction?

Thank you in advance!

  1. was your cramping sensation also tight? it may have been if it was tight... however, real contractions come every 5 minutes... or so... like they wont go away.

  2. It was probably just a braxton hicks contraction. You will probably deliver early though. You may start seeing a "Bloody Show" which is a bloody

looking mucas, that is normal. You will know when you are having a real contraction because it will be pain and tightening. They will come every couple minutes and get stronger and stronger.

    Good Luck to you!

  3. I am 37 weeks with my first and ive also had this happen, but as the way i see it is that if it is a real contraction they will only get worse, im not sure if you can have one and then no more after that for days..but thanks for asking ill be interested to see what everyone else says! lots of luck!!
