I thought that was what you are supposed to do, but now it has been a month and there are still no blooms in site. Have I ruined my chances for more blooms this summer? I don't know what kind of rose bush it is......I know very little about them. We just moved into this house and it is my first experience with rose bushes. The blooms are kind of light, bright pink and it grows pretty tall, if that helps. Thanks a lot!

  1. They should be fine. I have found that roses need to get watered regularly and fed regularly and this effects the number of flowers you will get. Almost any plant food will help them but if you want to splurge get some rose food which has the right proportions of nutrients that favors roses. But like I said you can use any plant food for them just don't over feed them! They will bloom again don't worry!

  2. keep cutting the dead blooms...Are you feeding it? You need to feed it some miracle grow to get it to bloom again!

  3. If you pinched the stems after cutting it, it promotes growth.  Be patient and continue to water it, it will bloom again.  This link will send you to an expert.  You can even contact him, he is nice.

  4. No you didn't fail. Dead blooms are suppose to be cut off. I don't have a lot of luck with Roses either, but do keep them trimmed. Sometimes it just takes a while to see new blooms.

Give them some plant food, well watered, or do some reading on the care of Roses

  5. Stop cutting them, let it fall on its own. There could be seeds inside of them

  6. There are some roses that only bloom once a year, but try talking to someone who knows plants, (friend, garden centre employee,) or looking it up in a gardening book; it'll also tell you how to look after the plant.
