Was it bad to hug my teachers?

it was the last day of school and my gym teacher.. in his 40's i dont "have a crush on him" he just always helped me out and was a great person. and my english teacher who is in his mid 30's and he helped me so much this past year i am so greatful for him. i dont like them like more than teachers, they hugged me back and everything but i was just reading that I shouldnt have done that? idk..

I think you are okay.  It was a hug of appreciation not a nasty hug.  Don't worry about it.

Ppl make such big deal out of hugging and touching yet in many parts of the world and even in parts of US and Canada people hug all the time. Nobody even thinks twice.about it. That's how they say hello and goodbye.

Just like ppl of same s*x hugging each other and sitting arm and not being g*y.

Unless there are strict rules at your school against it and they could have got into trouble  I don't see how it could be wrong.

You probably made them feel good. Hugging someone is a sign of friendship and caring.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it. I've always hugged my teachers after every school year, and during and such, since I was in junior high. I am now in high school and I still do it, not a lot like before but I still do.

I think that some people, faculty members and students, may see it as wrong becuase... that's how most people think. I'm sure you've heard about those scandelous stories about teachers taking advantage of students and some may think that that might be happening, when it isn't. I don't really know, I've never seen it from their point of view.

A male assistant principal of mine gave me personally a talk on this subject. It was odd, but it meant a lot. Long story short, you never, truely know a person, so be careful.

Not a big deal.

You're the innocent one in that situation.  If they abide by the proper boundaries, there is no harm.  I've hugged students (male and female) all the time.

Unfortunately, people are so uptight because of all the molestation cases you hear about in the media.  It's so scandalous to think of a teacher molesting a student so it makes you feel guilty having any physical contact whatsoever.

Like I said, it's the teacher's job to know and respect your boundaries.  Just make sure they do.

I teach Jr. High and I know the male teachers get hugged a lot at the end of the year and so do I. We, as teachers, love those end of the year hugs, it helps remind us that sometimes we DO make a difference. I do know that the male teachers do get uncomfortable with it and are especially careful of "how" they hug back and always keep in mind of how it might look to others when they do it. Some teachers won't hug at all just because of the way people might look at it even if it really means nothing. We teachers have to be SO careful about things like that.

thts fine you re just hugging them 2 let them know u care. i dnt think there is anything wrong with tht. personally i did the same with my gym teacher. i think its fine.theres nothing 2 worry about.

Good question.  Its okay to hug a teacher at the end of the school year, if you are moving away and won't see them again.

School policy says teachers shouldn't hug, or touch students.  Yet, we do it anyway.  There's a difference between a friendly hug and a sexual hug.
