Yes Handball (Team) is an Olympic Sport it was 1st in the 1936 Berlin games it was the outside field version (2 teams 11 on 11) had to do with the fact this sport was very popular in Germany.

Handball (TEAM) reappeared in 1972 at the Munich Olympics has been apart of every Summer Olympics since , but this time it was the indoor version (2 teams 7 on 7) as it overtook the field version in popularity. In 1976 Montreal Women's handball was added.

Men's field handball was played at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin at the special request of Adolf Hitler. It was removed from the list of sports, to return as team handball in 1972 for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. Women's team handball was added as an Olympic discipline at the 1976 Summer Olympics.
