I'm finding it pretty difficult. I think not using suede or leather is just as hard as the food.

  1. nope. i went through the stuff in my house in one day to sort everything out. anything i couldnt use i gave to others who could.

i have a pair of leather boots that i bought before i went vegan. they are the most comfortable boots i have ever worn. i'm not going to waste both my money and the cow's life when it's already in my possession. if those boots break or anything i will not by another pair because that would be wrong.

  2. Personally, no.  I don't find it difficult at all.

If you can't replace all your non-vegan goods immediately, then take your time.  Give away what you can do without, and wear what you "need" for as long as you can till you're able to replace it.

For example... I got a down jacket for my birthday a year before going vegan.  I couldn't afford to replace it my first vegan winter and I couldn't be without a warm jacket (I live in the North where you NEED warm winter outer-gear), so I wore it and honored it, and replaced it the next season.

    Best of luck!

  3. betty bones is environmentally friendly! SHOES!

  4. at the start but not anymore and for shoes vans is a great place ask for vegan shoes

  5. I didn't find it that hard at all.  I still have leather shoes and purses that I'm wearing out.  I don't think choosing not to waste something is hypocritical.  There are lots of non-leather shoes available.  You can find inexpensive ones at Payless, and there are online retailers like Moo Shoes for higher end ones.  Zappos also has a vegetarian section on their website.
