But she took them out from the library. Failed to return them when asked. Warned several times with letters. So she got what she was asking. Cynicism is no excuse to commit crimes. If you take a book or anything out from a library, public or academic, please return it or else! And this has happened in the past. Feedback, please.

  1. Yes.  She violated a municipal ordinance (maybe it's state law).  She was warned many times and a warrant was issued by a judge.  The police arrested her on the warrant as they do with every other warrant.  All warrants read "police SHALL take into custody".  Shall means must in law enforcement.

  2. They're going to have a hard time proving theft unless she sold or disposed of them.

Yes, it's an over-reaction - they should have sued her instead.

  3.    I think it was great and maybe gave the arrogant and irresponsible young lady a wake up call that just because your cute you don't have to obey the rules. I mean they did send her plenty of notices and she acted like the rules don't apply to her.

  4. Well I'd say that its considered stealing for sure..

  5. yes it was.....a thief is a thief....whether it is a book or a car or whatever.... and dont get me started on what the punishment should be........yes even for stealing a couple of books.......
