  1. NO, it was coincidental circumstances that allowed Western Europe to emerge.  If China hadn't turned isolationist and inward during the early15th century Mandarin could have been the lingua franca in the 21st century.

  2. What signs of racial superiority was displayed.?everything that europe obtained as a continent was either borrowed or stolen from another culture at some point. The greeks were the first civilized europeans but everything they had came from egypt and other darkskinned people to the south or to the east of them.Get a chance read a book call black spark white fire written by a white man name richard poe. He talk about how greece was basically an egyptian colony and how most of the well known greeks was educated in egyt. Finally to answer your question, was it racial superiority ? the answer is of course not... the reason why europeans colonized the known world was when they realized that globally they were a minority comprising maybe 10% of the world population, they had to devise a wicked scheme to control the world population. Consider this, other people were advanced as well but they werent greedy and evil enough to disrupt the harmony of others to suit ther own selfish needs. So the answer is racial selfishness and greed !

  3. No, it was military supremacy.

  4. Are you looking for a fight?

  5. No.  It was superior technology.

In every region of the world, tribes fought one another for supremacy.  In 350 BC, Chin managed to unite all of China, for example.

Once one tribe became supreme, there was no need to put extra efforts into weapons R&D.

That's why China had gunpowder for a thousand years, but never invented the musket.

In Europe, the regional powers never united, and continued developing better weapons with which to attack their neighbors.  England, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, etc.

When those powers discovered how to build galleons, they set out, and found their weapons to be far superior to the spears and arrows of most of the rest of the world.

  6. No. It was the rational thinking of the British and other Northern Europeans .

"knowledge is power" - Francis Bacon, 1605

"Printing, gunpowder and the compass: These three have changed the whole face and state of things throughout the world; the first in literature, the second in warfare, the third in navigation; whence have followed innumerable changes, in so much that no empire, no sect, no star seems to have exerted greater power and influence in human affairs than these mechanical discoveries"  - Francis Bacon, 1620

The separation of science from religion in Northern Europe allowed superior technology, economics and political structures to develop rapidly.

The Roman Catholic empires all quickly failed, in spite of financial and military superiority.

The Chinese had the opportunity to dominate the world, but superstition held them back.

  7. No, it was rational thinking and love of knowledge that the Greeks inspired in all of western culture.

    Greeks > Romans > British > Americans

Each civilization building on the last and all being directly influenced by the Greeks.

  8. No, but it was cultural superiority.

  9. ive got a feeling like everybody's got a piece of the pie and its fit together quite nicely.

  10. With guns, germs and steel is the short answer.
