Question:

Was it right for my swim coach to react in this way?

At swimming yesterday, the lifeguards removed the lane ropes 6 minutes before the end of the session without prior permission from the swim coach or the club. My swim coach went to have a word with the lifeguard and stormed off to tell another swim coach what the lifeguard had done. She then went to phone the head coach of the club and told us "that's it, get out girls" and left. Was it right for her to act this way?

  1. she over reacted.

but my coach is the same way. hes thrown chairs and broken metal doors.

he would hav thrown  a fit lol

  2. Nothing out of the ordinary and indeed it ws the correct thing to do.  Your coach has a duty of care to you, and once the lane-ropes are removed the chances of accidents (collisions, etc) do increase dramatically, as to the chances for injuries such cut fingers in lane ropes, abbrasions etc) so whilst the reaction might have been sudden, it most certainly the RIGHT thing to do with regards to your safety.

  3. She deff over reacted, but I do know that my swim coach would also have thrown a fit.

  4. I have been around a few swimming coaches, normal reaction, no matter what the sport.

Coaches do not like their plan or practices interrupted for any reason and this reads like an interruption.

  5. I don't think it was nessessary... it was only 6 min. how much could you guys have gotten don in 6 mins other that like just a warm down... so i think she overreacted

  6. Yes,she overreacted because you still had 6 minutes left for practice and the lifeguards should have said something.
