Was listening to some sports pundits raving about Milan as a city-Is it just me- or is the place an eyesore?

Was there watching Celtic recently and couldn't believe how drab and grotty the place really is-I mean there's some nice architecture in the city centre but you get that anywhere.

Over-rated food too-spend a fortune in their restaurants to be disappointed.Give me Rome over Milan-anyday!!

Compared to U.S. cities it is raveable, if for no other reason then that it is in Italy and for how close it is to Lake Como.

Otherwise, I too prefer other places in Italy-Rome, Florence, Venice all have Milan beat. But I especially like the smaller hill towns and villages.
