  1. No.Only if Elizabeth the first died. And if she did they would have over throne her or a cival war would break out in england.

  2. When she was executed she was first in line for the throne of England, that is why that when Elizabeth I died, James VI of Scotoland (Son of Mary, Queen of Scots) became James I of England.

Elizabeth I was born in wedlock and was not a b*****d according to conventional law, what was in the mind of her father is not necessarily correct.

  3. there was alot of talk that Mary was the rightful queen. She had "more" royal blood connections.

Elixzabeth was only a b*****d because her father reneged on her mothers marriage to him. He claimed he was unsure if she was even his daughter. But she was - she resembled him greatly.

Check these books if you like this era. It is a really interesting point in history

  4. Mary Queen of Scots was cousin to Queen Elizabeth of England. They both descended from King Henry 7 of England but as Henry 8 was heir to English throne, Elizabeth had a better claim than Mary to the throne.

Elizabeth was daughter to Henry by his second wife Anne Boleyn, he having divorced his first wife and broken with the Roman Catholic Church. This led to the Church of England and as England accepted Elizabeth as Queen the b*****d label is irrelevant.

Elizabeth died without a child and Mary would have followed her but she was killed as a result of her treachery. In fact Mary's son, James 6 of Scotland became James 1 of England and ruled both countries.

  5. Mary Queen of Scots was queen of England for a few months during Elizabeth's reign. And no she should not have been. Mary could not even rule her own country correctly and Elizabeth I was not a b*****d.

  6. No & No.  The worst thing her son did was take over the English throne when Elizabeth died without an heir.

  7. Mary Queen of Scots was the Cousin of Elizabeth Queen of England.  I believe there were people who felt she should have been and people who felt Elizabeth should have been - it was a divide issue so you'll get answers on both sides

  8. Mary, Queen of Scots was only crowned as "Queen of Scotland." Under the ordinary laws of succession, Mary was next in line to the English throne after her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I, who was childless. In the eyes of many Catholics, Elizabeth was illegitimate, thus making Mary the true heir. However the Third Succession Act of 1543 provided that Elizabeth would succeed Mary I of England on the throne.

Note: The anti-Catholic Act of Settlement was not passed until 1701, but the last will and testament of Henry VIII, (given legal force by the Third Succession Act), had excluded the Stewarts from succeeding to the English throne.

  9. Mary's claim arose from her relation to, I think, Margaret Tudor, who was Henry VIII's sister. Given that H's marriage to Elizabeth's mother, Ann Boleyne, had ended in execution and attainder, she proibably had a good title.  You cannot really understand the workings of the English monarchy without looking at land redistribution under Henry and who stood to lose if the Catholics came back. The brief reign of Mary Tudor was not exactly auspicious.

  10. no

  11. It all depends on how you see the issue, just like it would have been in those days. Elizabeth was the child of King Henry the 8th's second wife. Because of this many people felt that Mary Queen of Scots who was 2nd in line to the throne should rule. Other's felt as Elizabeth was the daughter of the previous king she deserved it even if she was the daughter of his 2nd wife.

That is why there was so much war and animosity between them. In the end it all came down to who could execute the other first for their own causes. Mary Queen of Scots was involved in an assination plot on Elizabeth 1 which is a crime that was punishable by death. After this Elizabeth 1 led England into a time of peace and ruled for many decades. In the end Elizabeth was seen as a good queen because of how many years of peace England eventually had under her rule.

Who knows what would of happened if Mary Queen of Scots got the throne. Because you can't see the other possibility I don't think you can say who should of been the Queen.

In those days Elizabeth would have been considered a b*****d but rules were changed before she was born when her father married her mother. Elizabeth would from a legal standpoint be the rightful queen. In the end I guess it all comes down to how horrible you see divorce.
