  1. Yes, yes, and no.

Yes, because by today's rules - which did not apply then - if Elizabeth I had died while Mary was still alive, Mary would have been the next rightful heir.

Yes, because according to the Pope, Henry VIII's marriage to Anne Boleyn was illegal, so Elizabeth I was a b*****d, and in 1558 it was Mary Queen of Scots, not Elizabeth, who should have succeeded to the English throne on the death of Mary Tudor.

But no, because even in those days, the line of succession was whatever the previous English monarch or English Parliament had decided was the line of succession. Mary Stuart wasn't in it, and her son James VI of Scotland was only in it because Elizabeth had said that he was.

  2. Mary Stuart was not officially an heir to Henry VIII's throne--Officially, only Mary I, Edward VI, and Elizabeth I were.  However, Mary Stuart, like Lady Jane Grey, was a grand-niece of Henry VIII and therefore was considered to be a possible successor, as she had royal blood from being descended from Henry VII.

  3. What do you think?  Try googling it.

  4. Good old Henry should not have been on the throne at all, the throne I think should have gone to the Plantagenet side, because somewhere on Henry's side their was a b*****d son along the way.

  5. Yes, she WAS. She and Elizabeth I was second cousins, and since Elizabeth I had no children, the closet living relative would be Mary. Most speculate this was why she had been executed.

  6. Yes. She was great grand daughter to Henry VII. So her claim was nearly as great as Henry VIII's children.

A match was made for her with her cousin Edward VI (Henry VIII's son) to consolidate her claim but then it was broken off and she married the Dauphin of France eventually becoming Mary Queen of France as well as Scotland but her husband died after only a year on the French throne.

  7. Under the ordinary laws of succession, Mary was next in line to the English throne after her cousin, Queen Elizabeth I, who was childless. In the eyes of many Catholics Elizabeth was illegitimate, making Mary the true heir.

The anti-Catholic Act of Settlement was not passed until 1701, but the last will and testament of Henry VIII had excluded the Stuarts from succeeding to the English throne. Mary's troubles were still further increased by the Huguenot rising in France, called le tumulte d'Amboise (March 6–March 17, 1560), making it impossible for the French to help Mary's supporters in Scotland. The question of the succession was therefore a real one.

  8. Last kind of Scotland was Ugandan  s****t

  9. Henry VIIIs will specifically excluded the Stuarts from inheriting the throne but she was the closest living legitimate relative of Henry's daughter and successor Elizabeth.

  10. When she was married to the King of France she was proclaimed Queen of France, Scotland and England....(by the French, not the English)

She was the Grand daughter of Henry 8ths sister Margaret...she was the next in line after Elizabeth died, but of course she was executed before hand and her son James became James 1st of England and 6th of Scotland.

  11. She was in line with Queen Elizabeth thats why she had to be executed.

  12. no but she quite often cleaned it after him

  13. She claimed Elizabeth I's throne.

That's more or less why she was beheaded.

Her son, James VI became James I of England

  14. No she wasn't as she was Queen of Scotland and Henry was King of England.  They were completely different countries back then.  It was only when Elizabeth I died without an heir that England united with Scotland and Mary's son James VI (of Scotland) became King of England and Scotland.  This is why he is known as James I of England, and James VI of Scotland.
