  1. Yes, it was an invention at the time.  Now it just seems like an inevitable part of the human condition, but when it was invented, this mindset was FAR from being in existence.

    People don't generally consider philosophy to be an invention, but that's because they're looking at it from our current perspective, historically.  To better understand what I call the origins, we must make differentiations.  This is the essence of philosophy.


  2. Philosophy is love of wisdom. Philo - wisdom. Sophia - love.  If you're talking logic, then, no.  Logic is inherent in the universe; we just observed it, gave it a name, and ran with it (with a lot of stumbling).

  5. hmm may be an invention but my notion is that it was a reaction to escape from life's incessant tension and frustration and death's devastation.

    It has invented many methods to seek reliable coherency.
