Well Shrek is based on a book. But if you mean real, like really exisited, then obviously not. Ogres are fake.

It is a cartoon of an ogre im sure it is made up. Snow White was not a real person either

Yeah....I worked for Disney for 11 years and rumor

has it...he's based on a real Olger who live under the bridge between the front acre of parking lots and the 2nd acre....of coarse he had to be removed bc of all the trams going through...he wasn't quite as "cute" as the film made him out to be....true story....I sware.....

god, your so dum.  of coarse shrek is reel.  how else do u thikn they cud film the movie?  u can tell its not peeple wearin costumes, so its obvsly reel.

and snow whites not reel- its a cartoon stupid.

DreamWorks didn't make him up, if that's your question.
