Though I am an adult I often behave irresponsibly and react immaturely at times...So as a result of this I was Punished.

Did she do the right thing?

How would you punish an irresponsible immature guy?

Dump him... Any guy who admits that he is irresponsible and immature and believes he should be punished is a man who should be sent home to his parents.  After all they are the ones who should finish raising you.

Two wrongs does not make a right. If you've behaved irresponsibly and immaturely... without knowing all the details, may have provoked the incident... having it escalate to punishment could which could have been controlled by an adjustment in attitude.
