  1. Probably not! I mean come on! He probably was the only man who wanted to have s*x with his mother!

  2. Not really. He certainly never did experiments, and it is definately not true that problems in adulthood can only be caused by trauma/conflict in childhood. Even Erikson felt the need to ro-do it. The Oedipus/Electra complex was cartainly largely disproven. Mostly, this part of the theory is considered wrong, and most studies either don't support it or support more recent theories that contradict it.

  3. He proposed a number of theories, none of which were flattering or helpfull to human being.  Nor were any of them proven true.

For the most part, they resulted in people going into therapy for years, with absolutely ZERO accountability for the therapist to ever have any accountability for a tangible result, or even in some cases, ever say anything at all.

The vast, vast majority of his studies, were on people who has severe mental problems, which he extrapolated onto 'normal' people

He was a self admitted coke head, and advocated cocaine use

He was basicly a guru to psuedo intellectuals, who loved to play head games on people by proclaiming 'superior' knowledge of the unknowable and unprovable.

At best he was a charlatain, and at worst he was evil

  4. All pitbulls dont bite.

    Never steriotype ANYTHING.

It may apply to some but not all.

I dont believe it can be proven.

This wont stop Dr.'s from keeping it in mind.
